Why We've Added Wedding Stories
We find that one of the greatest inspirations for recently engaged couples is hearing the first hand accounts of those who have gone before them.
We believe fervently that our stories -- the first-hand accounts of GLBT couples who wish to exchange vows and become legally connected as a couple -- will transform the prejudicial attitudes of those whose actions are informed by a lack of understanding about the GLBT community.
For these reasons, we are proud to feature your Wedding Stories on our site.
Where You'll Find Your Wedding Story
Once you've created a Wedding Story and it has been published, you may find it sampled via a link on our site. Or, you may decide to promote your link once it's been activated. Or, you may find your story selected as one of our featured stories, rotating through the Wedding Stories segment on our home page.
In either case, we ask you to be visible. To be proud of your commitment. To share your joy with us and the world!
Submission Guidelines
Content: You are welcome to tell your story as you see fit. You may be interested in summarizing your entire "wedding story." Or, perhaps you want to focus on your engagement, your planning process, or something that inspired you along the way. Or, you might want to tell the story of the role your parents played (or didn't play); what you thought might happen; or how your life as been changed by choosing a public ceremony or taking a legal step (in jurisdictions where this applies). Bottom line: we invite you to be creative and tell the story which is important to you.
The Grammar Police: We all make mistakes and you may find a few typos in the many articles on our site. We strive, however, to feature articles and stories which are well-written, thoughtfully executed and void of grammatical errors, typos, and poor spelling. Please value our time as much as we value your story and increase your odds of seeing your story published. Don't submit a draft of your story; submit a carefully crafted piece you have revised and edited. Please note that we reserve the right to edit any story you have submitted which we choose to feature (per our terms & conditions). Bottom line: We want to hear from you and ask you to be mindful that good grammar is always a thoughtful choice.
Copyright: If you submit a photo which was taken by someone else -- particularly a professional photograher -- please credit his or her work. Same goes for any quotations or text you might submit. Bottom line: To paraphrase our dear friends at FodderNetwork.com -- Don't steal (anyone's) stuff!
