Gay Marriage Is A Bumpy Ride

Ouch! My neck! (But I’ll take it!)

Just as we were mulling over the disappointing decision in Hawaii and growling about the Today Show’s decision not to include a gay or lesbian couple in their wedding contest, some good news broke.

First, the Today Show decided to change it’s mind. Good choice!

Additionally, news broke that a US District judge declared the federal ban on marriage to be unconstitutional. Leading the way once again: Massachusetts.

We’re a long way from the end of the case for same sex marriage at the federal level and have yet to hear more about the potential seismic result of the California trial regarding the constitutionality of same sex marriage in California.

Multiple cliches come to mind to describe the feeling of watching this tennis match, riding this roller coaster, holding our breath as we stay the course and remind everyone that it is love that matters, regardless of the gender of the couple.

Before closing, a special shoutout to Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post who wrote a nice little op-ed about Gov. Lingle’s veto.
