Georgetown Waterfront Engagement: Shanee & Stephanie
June 22, 2016
Shanee was in Philadelphia for a weekend visiting her college roommate and they decided to go to a party. While pre-gaming for the party, her friend’s girlfriend showed her the Facebook page of one of her coworkers, Stephanie. Shanee thought she was very attractive, but didn’t think she would ever actually meet her in person. Lo and behold, she was at the party that night!
Shanee and Stephanie were introduced, said their hellos, and went their own separate ways. As the party was winding down, they caught each other’s eye and began talking one-on-one. At the end of their conversation, Stephanie suggested they exchange Blackberry pins instead of phone numbers in case Shanee was a creepy stalker. They exchanged a lot of messages before finally talking on the phone.
Their first date was at an intimate restaurant without distraction. It went better than imagined and from then on, they were inseparable.
Shanee started searching for an engagement ring a few months before actually asking, but couldn’t find a ring she thought would fit Stephanie’s style. Once she found a ring, she started to set the plan into motion. She hired a professional photographer to capture the moment and their reactions.
She proposed at a picnic by the water. They met at the Georgetown Waterfront area after work, which is one of their favorite picnic/walking spots. After setting everything up and waiting for her to arrive, Shanee was extremely nervous. She popped the question almost right away, and of course, Stephanie said yes!
