Piedmont Park Engagement: Blakely & Jordan

While Jordan and Blakely knew each other through mutual friends, and Blakely even worked with Jordan’s mother, they never officially met until Blakely’s graduation night from college when they met at a local bar.

Blakely proposed first, even through everyone else thought Jordan would be the one to do it. They were at Piedmont Park in Atlanta with all of their closest friends, and they decided to take a couple photos in front of a small pond. Blakely made a silly comment to distract Jordan and when she turned around, Blakely was on one knee. There were plenty of tears.
Blakely and Jordan are now married. Both brides loved the beach, so their seaside venue was situated close to both of their families. The engagement and planning went smoothly as they wanted a smaller, more intimate event. The wedding was exactly that, laid back and simple, and Jordan says that the two “got lucky, considering you had two women planning it!”

Jordan’s favorite memory of the day was getting ready together with their moms. Blakely remembers walking down the aisle first, then getting the chance to watch her beautiful wife walk down the aisle to her. She was definitely crying and it was the happiest, most memorable moment of her life.

Jordan and Blakely recommend that engaged couples express their ideas to each other first before going to anyone else, and also to establish a realistic budget. “Go with the flow. You won’t miss out if you have one tiny thing missing. Focus, instead, on each other,” added Jordan. They also highly recommend getting a photographer you feel really comfortable with to capture every moment from the beginning of getting ready to the end of the reception.
