Red Rocks Proposal: Jen & Nicole
These brides-to-be live in Florida, but both dreamed of getting engaged in Colorado. “We fell in love with Colorado during our first summer trip together,” Jen said. “The Postal Service concert was the perfect vehicle to get Nicole to Colorado for the proposal. I surprised Nicole with the concert tickets and the impromptu trip there by playing their record and showing her the tickets. However, the proposal was the real reason for going.”
Jen and Nicole are hoping for a 2015 wedding. They’ve had to push back the original date to accommodate the launch of their new children’s clothing company, The Striped Fig. They would love to have a July 4th wedding.
A Red Rocks Proposal
Jen knew that Nicole wanted their engagement to include two things: being in Colorado, and having a photographer present to catch the moment. “So Red Rocks Amphitheatre was the easiest place to meet up with a photographer, rather than the random mountain path I originally had in mind,” Jen explained.
Jen surprised Nicole by writing the proposal onto a chalkboard during their picnic, and then with a Tiffany’s diamond, which was beyond anything Nicole ever imagined. To top it off, Jen made sure to get them a lovely room upgrade for the night. Jen’s favorite part of the day? “All of it!” she said. “The concert was surreal. We stayed in our favorite Colorado hotel, The Brown Palace.” The brides originally met “by pure chance,” and according to them, very few people know the whole story. In keeping with their little secret, that’s all they wanted to share about that! Jen offered this advice about marriage: “If you have someone you think is the one, do something difficult with her. Start a business, travel long distances, or even spend unthinkable amounts of time with each other’s families. And if after one or all of those things you still love her, then you can hopefully feel confident about spending your life with that person.”
