Rustic Indiana Engagement Session: Joey & Michael
An Indiana Engagement
The engagement session took place at a park on the outskirts of Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. The relaxed, outdoor atmosphere matches the couples easy nature as well as their hopes for their upcoming wedding. They plan to include many DIY elements as well as many that can be repurposed after the wedding to minimize their environmental footprint.
Joey proposed to Michael. “We had been together for two years when I knew I wanted to propose. I wanted to propose in a big cheesy, romantic fashion, so I planned a trip to Niagara Falls for us. I bought a beautiful 10-carat (plastic) diamond from Party City, and the whole time we were there, I kept trying to find the perfect place to ask. Finally, I realized that it would be perfect no matter where it happened, so when we had a moment alone overlooking the Falls, I very nervously asked. In that moment, i suddenly realized that he might think I was kidding since I had a huge fake ring to give him but he suspected it was coming all along, so he immediately said ‘yes’.”
Joey and Michael will wed at the Wheeler Arts Center in Indianapolis. The Center is converted from an old carburetor factory with a black ceiling and brick walls. The venue houses an art gallery and residences, so it is quite unique. The wedding colors will be turquoise and orange, and the grooms plan to walk each other down the aisle!
