Snowy Edmonton Engagement: Emma & Amber
Emma proposed to Amber. Both new early in their relationship that they wanted to spend their lives with each other, but the timing still caught Amber by surprise. Emma recreated a date they had enjoyed for Amber’s birthday when they first started dating. They saw the musical “If/Then” with Idina Menzel in San Francisco, and afterwards walked to Union Square. It was December, so there was a large Christmas tree all lit up. Emma proposed there and once the shock subsided, Amber said “yes!”
The couple visited Edmonton, where they held their engagement session. They had a blast, playing in the fresh snow, and they found they enjoyed being models for a bit! They recommend strongly that if you’re going to do a snow shoot, bring foot warmers!
Wedding planning is new territory for both brides, but they are looking forward to adding their personalities into the special day. They both come from large families, so balancing the guest list, venue and budget is a big challenge.
Engagement is new to Emma and Amber, but if they had to give advice now, it would be to enjoy the moment. Amber writes, “There is a short time between getting engaged and the reality of planning a wedding that is pure bliss. Hold on to that.” They do know that they don’t put much stock into conforming to ‘traditional wedding’ structures; rather, they want their day to be true to themselves as a couple and reflect their love.
