South Beach Florida Engagement: Stacey & Julie

In Julie and Stacey’s own words: “Sometimes in life, it’s the most ordinary moments that change your world in the most extraordinary ways. For us, that moment was meeting on the field at tryouts for the Alpha Epsilon Phi flag football team. When we met on the field for the first time, our connection was magnetic. A friendship started that day and soon it bloomed into a special bond when we were paired as big and little in our sorority. We spent the next few months together, deepening our connection each day as we shared more of ourselves than we ever expected to. As the fall became winter our friendship became a romance, and in January we shared the first of many kisses in a love that would last forever.”

Julie proposed on November 26, 2014 in Miami, Florida. She wanted an intimate proposal and to capture the moment, so she hired a photographer to hide out. She proposed by the Miami River near the condo the couple lives in, and besides acting like a nervous wreck all day, everything went perfectly. About a month before the engagement, she let the secret out to close friends and family so everyone could celebrate together at a nearby restaurant. Stacey had no idea and says it was the best night of her life.

Julie and Stacey loved how comfortable they felt with their photographer, Jonathan Scott. The shoot took almost the whole day, but time flew by and they embraced the moment. They chose intimate places that have meaning to them as a couple, and they would recommend that others do the same.

The two brides are both very involved in the planning process. They have similar tastes, which makes planning even easier. They also have selected incredible vendors who are making their vision come to life. They have found assembling the guest list the most challenging as both have extended family and lots of friends. Fitting them all into the venue they selected is difficult.

Julie and Stacey recommend that other newly engaged couples enjoy every second of their engagement. Time goes by so fast. Try not to take anything for granted. Focus on each other and remember that this day is about you and your relationship. Embrace every part, even the minor details. You only do this once!
