Butch Femme Wedding: Erika & Chino
July 13, 2013
Photographer Miki Vargas of California photographed Erika and Chino’s engagement session and wedding. And, because their wedding came shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA in 2013, Erika and Chino’s wedding became the first legal same-sex wedding Miki photographed in California.
It’s hard not to entranced by the glamor of the details Erika and Chino have chosen for their wedding, but also by how expressive they are. Miki Vargas did a beautiful job capturing the joy, love and excitement of the moment.
Miki reports that “Erika and Chino’s wedding was a glamorous black tie event filled with lots of romantic candlelight and bling. It took place at the beautiful Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley California.” The color pallet Chino and Erika chose for their wedding was old Hollywood: black, white, green and bling. (Yes, bling is a color!) And, their wedding details included tall pillar alter pieces, a pre-ceremony cocktail hour, a romantic sweetheart table, a ‘bling’ wedding cake table, a guestbook vignette featuring photos of the Erika and Chino and their wedding party, and mini bottles of Prosecco as favors.
