Real Wedding: Christine & Andrea
Christine Wilborn & Andrea Mansfield
July 21, 2012
Says photographer, Renee Kaminski of The R2 Studio: “Andrea & Christine were destined to be an R2 couple. They had already hired a wedding photographer, who, upon realizing that they were a same-sex couple, refused to do their wedding. Andrea was so hurt and ready to give up on finding a wedding photographer…it was then that our paths crossed.”
Renee tells us that Andrea found her through a reply she had written to a blog post, which had featured a beautiful same-sex wedding. After reading, Renee’s reply, Andrea contacted The R2 Studio, hired them, and, says Renee, “After many skype sessions and a flight to Oregon, this is the outcome!”
Andrea & Christine wanted an intimate wedding so they chose Christine’s parents’ beautiful backyard, which she has loved since she was a child. Andrea took a do-it-yourself approach and made all of the table decor, backyard decorations, and her own flower arrangements.
The wedding session also included a “vogue” shoot with them the day after the wedding to incorporate downtown Portland into their portraits, since this is where the couple met, got engaged, and still love to hang out together.
