Connecticut Art Gallery Wedding: Charmagne & Tianna
November 15, 2014
Charmagne and Tianna met through a mutual friend at a Happy Hour. They were instantly attracted to one another and quickly discovered they shared a particular sense of humor and liked many of the same things, including music, theater, cooking, time with friends, creating, lots of laughing and of course sharing a bottle of wine on the couch while planning world domination! Still, it was 6 months later when they went on their first date.
Two years into their relationship, the couple talked and agreed that they wanted a life together in marriage. Neither surprised the other with a elaborate proposal. Instead. They planned an engagement vacation to give each other rings and spend time celebrating their love. Life (and a nasty head cold) interfered with their plans, though, and they made it official on their own couch, sharing words of love and exchanging rings.
Charmagne and Tianna chose an art gallery as their wedding venue – a place that was unique, and artsy, like them. The Dirt Salon was local, flexible, and a perfect fit with exposed brick walls, unique art pieces, wide rooms, and high ceilings.
Charmagne shared her most memorable moments of the wedding day: “The whole day seemed to fly by. It wasn’t very chaotic or stressful, though emotions were running high, but they were mostly good ones. It felt like a lot of waiting at the time, but when I think back on it now, it’s all kind of a blur, until the moment of the actual ceremony when time slows down for me. I remember vividly the doors opening, stepping forward and looking into her eyes. Our paths crossed, our hands locked together and we walked the rest of the way together. I know that the room was crowded at the time, but in my head all I can see is the altar and our friend Crystal, who officiated, waiting to marry us. It’s as the rest of the world melted away then and I only saw her and what we were there to do. I only heard her voice and the music as it played. Even the events after that are a blur, but the actual wedding is clear as day”.
