Desert Industrial Wedding: Styled Shoot

Denise Karis Photography

This “Desert Industrial” styled shoot took place at Piestewa Peak, in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The stylist used lots of matte black, harsh metals and concrete against plant-dyed silk.

Monochromatic neutrals from sand colors to smoky grays made everything appear abstract and full of texture. The style was offbeat, just like the desert.

Coffee beans added a deep brown color as well as an industrial flare. Flowers included anemones, veronica, feather eucalyptus, blush roses, white garden roses, poppy pods, scabiosa pods, chocolate cosmos, echeveria succulents, and fritillaria. Each bride showed off her own bouquet and hand crafted flower crown.

The invitation suite was unrefined and organic. The artist loves inkblots, bleeds and mistakes. Her work resembles a bride writing her own love letter. It’s not focused on perfection; rather, it is there for beauty and artistic grace. The handmade paper also offers an extra intimate feel.
