Fall Wedding in Ohio: Linsey & Nicky
September 13, 2014
Linsey and Nicky have certainly journeyed many miles in their effort to be together. The brides met on the east coast, reside in California, and are both from Ohio. They returned to Columbus to hold their wedding on a Saturday in mid-September. Their photographer describes them as “relaxed and carefree” and it is clear from their photos that they had no trouble enjoying every moment of their special day.
Their first look was staged in the alley behind their hotel, creating the perfect backdrop for downtown urban portraits.
The wedding day was beautiful and sunny. As the photographer recalls, “They wanted to have a first look so they could have lots of time together throughout the day, and visit a couple different places for pictures. First we visited Bicentennial Park and the nearby Scioto Mile. The day was just cool enough that the park was quiet and the area around the fountains was completely empty. It also happened to be a beautifully sunny day! We got some fun portraits by the fountains and in front of the Columbus skyline. From there, we headed to German Village, definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods in Columbus!”
The wedding was held at YMCA Hoover Park. A gazebo ceremony was followed by a reception in Optimist Lodge, beautifully decorated with string lights and flowers. Whole Foods catered their entirely vegetarian dinner. Linsey and Nicky shared their first dance in front of a beautiful backdrop with the initials L & N, which later became the guest photo booth! Guests roasted marshmallows and enjoyed s’mores on the deck as the sun set.
Included in Linsey and Nicky’s vows was a promise to ask each other before bringing another animal home! Their beautiful wedding day perfectly embodied their sincere love for each other, and the images say more than words. Congratulations Linsey and Nicky.
