Dyron and Jose met through a social media site. They exchanged numbers and started talking. At first, they weren’t crazy about each other, but they gave it a try and met, after a few weeks, at a movie theater. They felt an instant attraction and have been together ever since.
The grooms’ proposal was very simple. They hadn’t thought about marriage, especially since it wasn’t legal in Florida at the time. They had a picnic at the park, and Dyron proposed to Jose under a beautiful sunset.
The proposal was more a promise of love and to be together through ups and downs. They decided to get legally married in New York one year before their Miami wedding. Shortly after their Miami wedding, same sex marriage became legal in Florida.

The Coral Cables Museum exactly suited what Dyron and Jose wanted for a venue. It was convenient and featured inside and outside facilities. Their romantic ceremony took place under bistro lights in the courtyard. Guests were then escorted to the upstairs rooftop where they hosted cocktail hour, followed by the reception in the community meeting room.

Dyron and Jose’s favorite memory of their wedding day was the moment they walked down the aisle. They felt excited, nervous, happy, and relieved. Everything immediately felt real. All of their hard work paid off and they were overjoyed with happiness and the love that radiated from their friends and family.

In Dyron’s words, “The best advice we can offer other couples, specifically same-sex couples is to never let anything get in the way of love. Love can help conquer all obstacles. When you truly want something you have the ability to make it happen. Enjoy every minute of your wedding day. Remember you are doing this for the two of you and no one else.
