Aisha and Nina met in the workplace. There were no sparks, and it was not love at first site. Their manager in fact, forced them into conversation. Once they talked, they realized how much they had in common and connected spiritually. A few years later their official love story began.

Nina proposed to Aisha while they had lunch with friends in Atlantic Station. As Aisha looked away, Nina placed a ring box on the table, grabbed Aisha’s hand and began stumbling on her words. Aisha responded, “YES…to whatever you were trying to ask me!”

When searching for a venue, the brides wanted a place that was beautiful and classy, yet simple. They also wanted to stick to their budget. The Atrium in Norcross was perfect. It included a beautiful garden for their vows, and endless dancing in the crystal-filled reception hall. The venue provided an excellent wedding planner and design team that handled the bulk of the planning.

Aisha’s mother planned a wonderful rehearsal dinner that stands out as one of the most special details of the wedding to Aisha and Nina. The toasts that their friends gave were their favorite wedding-day memories. The loving words and special blessings on their lives left the brides overjoyed.

September will mark the couple’s first wedding anniversary, and it will stand out among others as the entire country will legally recognize their marriage. They plan to take a trip to a new place each year to signify that their love will never grow old.

Aisha shared the following advice for other same-sex couples: “We spent a lot of time explaining, and in some cases, defending our decision to get married to their families. Our advice to any couple would be not to waste time trying to explain why you love whom you love. Let your actions and amazing relationship show why!”
