Hawaii Beach Wedding: Ryan and Tyler
September 9, 2014
After a Costa Maya, Mexico, proposal, Ryan and Tyler knew they would marry at a beautiful, tropical destination and Hawaii was the perfect fit. Maluaka Beach on Maui set a picture-perfect backdrop for Ryan and Tyler’s special day. Seeking an intimate beach wedding in paradise, the couple couldn’t resist the Aloha State and its laidback atmosphere.
Ryan and Tyler could not have imagined an experience more beautiful than privately exchanging vows in a traditional Hawaiian ceremony on the beach.
When Tyler and Ryan arrived at the beach for their ceremony, there were still remnants of a storm blowing through. The sky was cloudy and a bit damp, and the wind was howling. As the time to start edged closer, the wind died down completely, the sky cleared up, and the scene was picture perfect. At one point, shortly after starting the ceremony, the officiant stopped and told the grooms to turn around. The perfect, clear blue evening sky was lit up by a rainbow.
Key to their perfect destination wedding was keeping things simple. The grooms lounged around during the morning and really took the whole experience in. The day was simply about them. When they returned to the mainland, Ryan and Tyler enjoyed a festive reception with their family and friends.
When asked for advice for future couples planning a destination wedding, Ryan stresses to have your wedding the way you imagine it. “Do it for yourself,” he shares. “Not for everyone else. Take time to soak everything in. Take pictures!”
