Hill Country Spring Elopement: Whitney & Kristiania

April 12, 2016

Whitney and Kristi, both teachers, met at work. They talked about getting engaged, but their proposal actually happened one day while cuddled up on the couch watching TV. Whitney wanted Kristi to know that she wanted exactly what they had in that moment forever; just to be together in complete comfort. Whitney asked and Kristi said yes!

Their elopement took a bit of planning, which is something Whitney loves to do. They both agreed that it would be just them on their day. Not needing to deal with family and friends made it a bit easier.

They chose their small, Austin, Texas chapel because of its landscaping, photo props and terrific views of the Hill Country. It’s worth mentioning that it was also free.

The most memorable detail was thinking, “OMG, we’re getting married! In TEXAS. Legally!” They never thought they would see that in their lifetimes.

Whitney’s favorite moment was seeing the look in Kristi’s eyes as they read their vows. She said, you can see how much someone loves you in that moment. And actually the entire day felt that way and every day after. Kristi’s favorite moment was their champagne toast.

Said Whitney, “My advice would be to do it exactly as you want it, no fear. If you want the big extravagant wedding, go for it! It is YOUR day, no one else’s. Don’t do it because it’s now legal, do it because you can’t imagine one minute of your life without them!”
