Italian Villa Wedding: Melissa & Laura
Sept. 10, 2016
Laura and Melissa met on a dating website and have been together for three years. They got engaged in Bologna. Laura proposed to Mel with some cards in envelopes set out on a wall in the town in the evening. There were seven envelopes and each card had a letter on the front, spelling: MARRY ME.
Inside each card was a reason why she should do just that – for example, one card said, “I promise to make you laugh every day,” and another said, “I promise to tell you I love you every day.”
They were married at a real Tuscan villa, which they chose for its intrinsic beauty. Their intimate wedding had just 40 guests, and felt like a dream. They did their own decorations, invites and ceremony planning themselves which saved them a lot of money – this helped when England decided to leave the European Union and costs suddenly went up.
A string quartet played during the ceremony and canapés. The couple had two bridesmaids and two junior bridesmaids. Their color palette was white and dark purple and their décor was themed “Rustic Italian.” They enjoyed a five course meal of traditional Italian foods include wild boar, lobster, and of course, pasta!
Laura and Mel would share one important piece of advice with other engaged couples, “ Enjoy it as much as you can because it goes so quickly!”
