It was a coast to coast wedding!
I am an event planner who recently had the pleasure of planning the wedding of two amazing women from Tennessee: Jennifer and Mandy. In fact, I helped plan Mandy’s proposal to Jennifer one year ago in Central Park as well! It was quite the tear jerker and can be found on YouTube (and seen below)!
So, as you might imagine, I got to know them well in 2010-11, and was honored to help them plan their two (yes, two!) weddings!
When Mandy first hired me, she said that there had never been a boring moment in the two years they had known one another. Jennifer loves things with a wow factor and this didn’t stop with the marriage proposal. Their full wedding schedule consisted of a civil ceremony in New York City, the spiritual wedding on a dramatic cliff in Hawaii, and then a party with family and friends later in Memphis, Tennessee.
On Monday, January 30, 2012, Mandy and Jennifer flew to New York City where their civil ceremony was held outside of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Palace Hotel. The two women wore beautiful matching white coats and matching boots.
After the ceremony, they toasted to their happiness with a glass of champagne and shared a delicious vanilla cupcake. After they signed their marriage certificate, it was time for a fun photo session around New York City with photographer Sean Kim. That evening they stayed at the Palace Hotel.
The next day, the newlyweds boarded their first class seats to Kauai, Hawaii (with their white wedding gowns as their carry ons!) to have their spiritual ceremony. Their wedding took place on a stunning cliff at Shipwreck Beach at sunset, overlooking the Pacific ocean.
