Luxury Aspen Wedding: David & Heifara
June 14, 2014
David and Heifara met in 2000 through a mutual friend when Heifara moved to New York for college. They found their perfect match in each other, but decided that they wouldn’t get married until it was legal in New York. They were delayed yet another year when David’s sister and her now wife Olga, got engaged and the gentlemen didn’t want to draw attention from them.
David and Heifara proposed to each other while hiking up Aspen Mountain in 2013.
Heifara was born in Aspen, and he and David run an outerwear company, Aztech Mountain, there, so their wedding destination was significant. They chose Heifara’s godmother’s house as the venue for the ceremony, where his parents were married 37 years earlier. They chose Chaparral in Woody Creek for the view and a space open to their creative design.
The detail-oriented grooms chose Esther Pearlstone as their wedding planner and describe their planning experience as “smooth sailing.” Their dog, Kamehameha, who is their baby, walked them down the aisle.
The over-the-top flowers by Aspen Branch at the reception were David and Heifara’s favorite wedding day detail. Finally being married after dating for 13 years, with two failed trial separations, was their favorite memory of the day.
To other engaged couples, David and Heifara recommend that they “laugh, have fun and try not to get stressed because it will all work out in the end.”
