Maryland Mansion Wedding: Ricky & Brian

March 14, 2015

Ricky and Brian met online and celebrated their first date at the Towson Diner. On April 20, 2014, Brian proposed to Ricky at the Stoneyriver Steakhouse, also in Towson, Maryland. Before the proposal, the men had their rings handcrafted by Liberty Jewelers, so it wasn’t a surprise proposal, but nevertheless, Rich was still very excited!

The grooms chose Overhills Mansion for their wedding. They loved many things about the venue, including the breathtaking mansion, the flexibility of the chef in allowing a breakfast wedding instead of the typical dinner and that it was an ideal location close to the airport and city. Everything was inclusive down to the wedding manager for the big day. Ricky and Brian didn’t have to worry about a thing.

Guests loved the special touches, including the novelty of a breakfast celebration and the Godiva chocolate favors. These, in particular, were a huge hit! Ricky and Brian even personalized their vows. Saying them to each other remains their favorite memory of the day.

The newlyweds offer the following advice to couples planning their own weddings: “Remember that this is YOUR wedding, so do it in the way that YOU want to do it. Don’t get caught up in what other people, such as your friends and family, want to do. It’s okay to get input, but make the decisions yourselves and stick with them. Don’t expect perfection – there will be mistakes that are beyond your control – simply move and enjoy your special day!”
