Nautical Northshore Massachusetts: Bryan & Josh
September 20, 2014
Bryan and Josh are active, quirky, and passionate. Their different approaches to life complement each other. They exchanged their vows in September, under a stunning historic gazebo in the heart of Salem’s Common Park.
Their day began with a picture-perfect first look on the water. After the ceremony, guests proceeded to the Hawthorne Hotel where their formal ballroom reception was decorated in the nautical style, with custom-monogrammed wine bottles.
The grooms wanted everyone to be comfortable without sacrificing fashion. They chose suits in lieu of heavy tuxedos. They also applied their creative talent to completing DIY projects for their theme. All of the guest favors, name tags, and table numbers, were hand written wine glasses that included the guest name, twine wrapped stem, green bow, and a homemade wine charm with the table assignment. Bryan of course designed and created all of the wine bottle labels for the table numbers.
Josh and Bryan’s favorite part of their reception was spending time with those closest to them. They also particularly enjoyed the 3D image of their beloved dog on their cake, their choreographed introduction, and their mother-son dances.
We received a piece of advice from one of our friends to “at the hieght of it all stand back and just watch for 30 seconds”, and it was magical. The pairings and groups that came together at our wedding were unforgettably magical. The love and fun we saw in everyone was breathtaking and moving. It was honestly one of the best pieces of advice we had received throughout the entire experience.
