New Year’s Eve Wedding in Solana Beach: Leane and Jennifer
Dec. 31, 2015
Jen and Leane met online. Leane reached out to Jen after seeing her picture and write up. Jen is Italian and Irish like Leane, and also shares a love of wine. It was a match made in heaven. Leane didn’t post a picture, and Jen wasn’t going to email anyone back who didn’t have one, but she liked what Leane wrote and decided to take a chance and reply.
Leane confesses that she and Jen had a little quarrel on the day she planned to propose, and putting the ring box in front of Jen stopped it pretty quickly. It was during a weekend trip to Laguna Beach. A week later, Jen got down on one knee while “Marry Me” played in their favorite Italian restaurant and “proposed back.”
Leane described their planning experience as “fun and frustrating and exciting. We loved it and just went all out for the day!” They even shopped at the same place for their dresses, but did not see the other’s dress until the day of the wedding.
Both agree that the entire day was magical and just what they ordered. “It is the wedding we never knew we wanted,” said Leane. “A beautiful fun perfect day.”
The newlyweds shared that figuring out which traditions to keep, which ones to adapt and which ones to just plain get rid of will cause other same-sex couples a little craziness. In the end, though, they suggest that other couples remember that the day is theirs, and that no one else should dictate what happens. Congratulations Jen and Leane!
