North Carolina Brides: Patty & Lisa

Two Ring Studios 1

Patty and Lisa were officially wed in Boston, MA early in 2011, but they celebrated their marriage a few months later on May 20 in the lush mountains of Asheville, NC.

Surrounded by friends and family, the North Carolina brides began the day with a blessing service at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Asheville. This open and welcoming church community has a long tradition in the town, and was instigated in the 1840s by three pioneer women.

The reception was held at the Biltmore, an 8,000-acre dream oasis in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Within the Biltmore, the bride chose The Lioncrest as their location, a “proper Southern porch” that is listed on the National Historic Registry. It was the perfect venue to showcase the careful planning and decorating that the brides did. A scroll through their photos shows their attention to detail and color coordination, and their creative use of vases, lanterns and flowers – hydrangeas and lilies everywhere! – to create a warm and welcoming setting for their guests.

In keeping with the entire wedding, the entertainment was first class. Emmy-nominated vocalist Kat Williams performed, and the brides joined their guests on the dance floor and celebrated the night away.
