NYC Wedding: Cean & Gareth

These California grooms travelled to New York City to get married on April 1, 2012. Cean and Gareth met on Grindr and decided to meet and have their first date shortly after. They knew very early on that they were meant to be married.

After about a year of dating and discussing marriage, Cean began joking with Gareth that he was waiting to see a ‘white horse’ coming to sweep him off his feet. Not skipping a beat, Gareth planned a trip to New York City, with a visit to a bar called White Horse Tavern, in the West Village. At the bar, Gareth got down on one knee and proposed.

They decided to make it a NYC wedding, choosing the Dream Downtown Hotel in Chelsea for their venue. What the grooms wanted most was a fun and relaxed atmosphere, so they reserved the penthouse at the hotel for their pre-ceremony cocktail hour, the ceremony, and a champagne brunch reception. Of course, the after-party was at the White Horse.

The photography was handled by photographer Jeremy Fraser, of Cean’s own photography studio, Cean One Studios, and their wedding was featured in The New Art of Capturing Love.
