Pennsylvania Country Club Wedding (Styled Session)
Johnny and Brian met in August of 2010 at a wedding near Wilmington, NC. They proposed to each other recently and plan to hold a small, rustic but classic wedding with close friends and family. They enjoy playing guitar and piano respectively, and also love organic gardening, camping, hiking, art, cooking, and spending warm summer evenings in front of a bonfire.
The team started out knowing they wanted to incorporate a vintage blue convertible, and to showcase the beautiful grounds of the venue. Elements they knew that wanted to feature included champagne, scotch, and cigars.
About halfway through the shoot the weather was quickly about to change, and it started pouring down rain. The team was disappointed that they missed an opportunity to take some fun photos with the gentlemen with no coats, open bowties, and rolled up pant legs, feet dangling in the lake. Instead, they opted to skip the lake, but Dustin suggested the couple head out with an umbrella in the rain. They captured a few great shots with the umbrellas, then, being the super cute, in love, light-hearted, outdoors-loving couple they are, the models said “toss the umbrellas!” They embraced the weather. Dustin was thrilled when they literally started to dance together and stomp around in the puddles. That series of images are easily some of his favorites to date.
Dustin believes that series of images really illustrates how freeing the new legislation is, and “just how happy gay couples can be knowing that they can finally celebrate their love and commitments to one another without being restricted” by outdated laws.
