Rustic Scottish Wedding: Kirk & Ryan
September 12, 2014
Kirk and Ryan were married at Fort Edmonton Park in Alberta, Canada. The couple fell in love with the idea of an intimate venue that made them feel close to their friends and family. Kirk had been to a wedding at the Fort many years before, and it always stuck in the back of his mind as the perfect spot for a celebration.
The couple’s wedding day was devoted to thanking the people they love for supporting them, and being part of their lives together.
Scottish Wedding Planning
Kirk inherited the kilt that he wore on his wedding day from his uncle, and his jacket was a gift from a friend. The couple not only incorporated his strong Scottish heritage, but also unique touches from both families to make their day more personal. They designed their own invitation, and Ryan’s mother made the almond rocha that served as their guest favors.
Their decor was rustic and simple, featuring potted live plants, mosses, and an eclectic collection of lanterns. Long tables were accented with flowing centerpieces that included tall branches and low greenery.
