Shooting Star Gardens is an amazing location. The house is a beautiful Victorian house with a wraparound porch that is perfect for taking a first look photo. Every direction you look are gorgeous gardens that Marylou (the owner) clearly spends hours upon hours on. There are several different areas that can host a wedding here so you will have options if the lighting isn't right in one area or the flowers are blooming better in another area. Marylou makes everything easy. We did not have a wedding planner but Marylou was there to give her ideas and extra direction for anything we needed on our big day.

This is the most beautiful venue. The garden is perfectly maintained, there are amazing flowers everywhere, and the corner we chose to have the ceremony was so picturesque. A lot of the photos our guests took look genuinely professional because the settings were so gorgeous. Marylou was a huge help. In the months leading up the wedding, she promptly responded to my many questions via both text and email. She met with my caterer and my day-of coordinator and gave them tours of the venue. On the day of, she spent far longer than the time expected of her. In fact, she was up late the night before pressing linens and when I arrived an hour early (which she okayed even though it wasn't within the allotted) she and an assistant were already out setting up chairs and tables. In general, I found that Marylou was extremely dedicated to seeing that my vision for the day happened. She had a lot of expertise on how to handle logistics and make sure everything was actually doable, and then she did so much to help execute it on the day of. I was actually upset about the other review that mentioned she was uptight. I did not find this at all - and I think it's great she is considerate of the neighbors. Moreover, her caution ensures that the police don't get called and completely stop the party altogether. The only thing that upset me was that I didn't know upfront that I had to buy wedding insurance. It cost about $150 which wasn't terrible, but it was just one more thing to pay for and the bills really added up. Lastly, the bridal room and the reception tent are top notch. The bridal room is equipped with great lighting, four giant full-length mirrors, a bathroom, curtains for changing, a mini-fridge, and glasses for drinks! The tent has a great dance floor, the cutest lighting, and even fans built in to the ceiling. Marylou also has furniture like a bar and cake table which were very handy. I would recommend this venue to anyone that wants an outdoor wedding.

Me and husband got married here July 9th and we could not have asked for a better day. We originally had planned on having a very small wedding because we didnt want a wedding planner but as the time went on we ended up doubling our guest list and still had no planner so we could not have done this with out Mary Lou. She was there to answer every single question I had very quickly and was constantly giving me idea for things I had a hard times with. I loved feeling like my day mattered and that things could always be made to work if it wasn't right without trying to squeeze every penny out of us. I feel like a lot of big over priced venues in the city make it about the money and not about the couple so we appreciated feeling like we were important. The best part is that this venue is so beautiful! Every inch of this place is well kept and maintained! I could not have asked for a more gorgeous place to get married!

As a guest of a wedding held at Shooting Star Gardens, I was extremely impressed with the care, service and professionalism the owner gave to the bride, groom and their special day. She was extremely helpful and available to everyone who had a question or request. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. I would recommend this location and business to anyone who wants a fabulous location to hold their wedding or another event.

I knew I wanted to get married outdoors. I needed a place that didn't make me use their overpriced catering. I couldn't have imagined a better place than Shooting Star Gardens. Marylou is incredible. She was so kind and had no problem answering all of my million questions. She was there the whole day and acted as a coordinator (telling DJ's the best place to set up, etc.) When I was touring the facilities, she was talking to me about what it would look like day of the wedding. I had a difficult time imagining it, but when I finally saw it, it exceeded my expectations. Bottom line: this place is beyond beautiful, reasonably priced and the owner is great. I would do it again in a second.

The Gardens were a gorgeous location with many options for a rain or shine, large or small wedding. We had a fairly large wedding on a hot day in august. there was a great spot for the ceremony on the lawn surrounded by flowers with a forest backdrop. Then we moved to a covered tent with fans to keep everyone cool. It was a perfect set up. Marylou is also fantastic. She provided all the assistance we needed and gave great advice but was not pushy with her opinions. She also did all the set up and take down and was there throughout the whole wedding to make sure things were going smoothly. You couldn't pick a better location and helpful wedding planner than this. And the pricing was extremely reasonable. We absolutely loved our wedding here.

Marylou, owner of Shooting Star Gardens, was absolutely wonderful to work with! She answered my questions every step of the way and helped with more than I ever expected. She allowed us to tour the venue ahead of time, and rehearse the day before. She was around all day handling little details and helping out guests during our wedding. She even had all kinds of cute props and extras like chairs, benches, drink buckets, a blackboard, etc that we were able to use. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and made for amazing photos. ALL of our guests loved the venue and had a great time. Thank you Marylou!

We had a great time and really do appreciate all that you did to help make the day a special one for our family. Lots of comments on the lovely gardens, beautiful setting and wonderful location. It was all made very easy for us to bring in our own food and drink for the reception and we were able to enjoy the time with our family and friends. Thank you. We all enjoyed our day.

This wedding venue is absolutely gorgeous and Mary Lou is very friendly and answered all my questions from day one( which was over a year before the wedding). When the day came, it was in the mid 90's and there were a couple quirks, but over all, I had a wonderful day! Thank you for all your help Mary Lou!!

The venue is lovely! Our guests loved it and we really felt it captured the beauty of WA. I highly recommend working with this venue via a planner; there iis not a lot of support for the event from the venue/owner. I would also recommend keeping track of all info and agreements to avoid confusion on the wedding day/after.

The venue was beautiful. The owner was very uptight. Very hard to work with. Had to set up at noon for a wedding at three. She barely let us In there. She spent the whole night watching every move we made. Had a decimal meter for our DJ. Which she carried around all night. Wanted us to park our guests cars and direct them where to park. Then asked us to help her put away tables and chairs. It was really beautiful I must say.
Shooting Star Gardens responded with the following comments:
Shooting Star Gardens strives to meet or exceed each Bridal parties expectations. The reward for us is watching the Bride and Groom with the myriad of their guests enjoying themselves and having a good time. To address some of your concerns, the county in which we operate requires (currently), that we keep a log via a decibel reader to show compliance re: their noise ordinance. In order for everyone to have a good time while dancing etc, we have double walled our 60 ft. tent on one side with a sound deflecting material sandwiched in between. This keeps the decibel level at the property line within tolerance, while having it be double the noise level within the tent and beyond. We are one of the few venues that allows our couples 10 hours at the venue. Most allow 5-8 hours. It is clearly the choice of every Bride and Groom as to how they want to arrange their event. In this case, they chose to arrive at noon, (although several arrived at 11:30) and to have the ceremony at 3 pm. In an effort to alleviate family members from some of the more mundane and dirty jobs, our service promised to our clients includes providing a parking attendant, busing tables, removing garbage and setting up and tearing down of all of the tables and chairs. All of this activity does put us in close proximity with our guests. I have to say that at 99% of the events that we do, a few guests that do hang to the end just offer to help stack some of the chairs. It is a lovely gesture, we appreciate it, but have never asked anyone to do so. I hope this clears up some of the confusion. Coming from another state where the laws are different can be frustrating. In speaking with the Bride after the event she stated that they had a fabulous time! Comments from guests really help us scrutinize our service and we are always open to it in order to continuously improve our Venue.
