Initially, getting a contract signed was frustrating. We let this slide because Kristyn, the planner, was taking time off for a family emergency. She was out for a little while and her supervisor was filling in, so some disorganization was to be expected. When we started working with kristyn. things went a bit more smoothly. Although there was still a bit of lack of communication as I've heard other brides stating that they were the ones responding to emails from their venue...we had to initiate most of our conversations. The day of the rehearsal, we saw kristyn walk by. We had no direction and our minister directed it all based on assumptions. We were directed to the room of the ceremony by some signs put out. Afterwards, we found her to bring her some items she needed to set out for the wedding reception. The day of the wedding: Things went fairly smoothly. We saw Kristyn once when she asked how things were, which at the time were great. Until we asked, the service staff almost didn't serve milk to the kids (as was outlined in our contract) which I thought was odd, since it wasn't even an "extra" item - only a substitute for juice. We had steak and we asked for it all to be cooked to medium, it was mostly served VERY rare. Most comments were that it tasted good though, despite how "raw" it was. That night we had to search for a server to get boxes for our anniversary cake and some leftover cupcakes. We had no help getting our gifts out to our car or room, and because of the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, we left some things there and had to make another drive to get them. I've worked in restaurants and served at weddings. The planner was always available for anything the bride or groom needed - she didn't have to "be found". She would also never allow a bride and groom to load the car/gifts themselves! This is a very inexpensive venue if you're looking for a banquet style setting. Just be prepared for "behind the scenes" service.
