We like to say Main Street Ballroom is a "blank slate with character" that you can customize to create your unique vision for your big day. We were the first or one of the first to book out date in 2016 before the grande opening in 4/2017! We saw the vision and believed in Kate immediately! She has done an amazing job with adding the portable patio, side entrance stairway, barn doors, bridal suite, chandelier and so much more! We are proud of her success! Our event was simply amazing! Our planner set up Pipe & Drape so there would be a reception reveal and it wowed everyone! We had everything on site- ceremony at barn doors, cocktails on the patio, reception behind the draping. Our colors of wine, champagne and gold popped against the earth tones of Main Street Ballroom!

I loved working with this venue!!! Kate and Laura are truly for the bride and groom and do everything they can to make it the easiest part of planning (if there is an easy part in planning). They have prompt responses, sweet attitudes, and not to mention Historic Ellicott City is gorgeous and there are plenty of photo-worthy spots around the venue. If I could have every special event in my life celebrated here I would! Wonderful service, very professional, totally worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend.

Great space! Kate was great to work with - very accommodating! Parking is a little tight in the area but there is a large lot a couple of blocks away that worked fine.

As the 1st bride, of the 1st wedding, of the VERY FIRST event at Main Street Ballroom (MSB), I am compelled to share my experience with this very special place with all those who are out there making a decision on where to marry the love of your life. If you are like me you are feeling a bit overwhelmed and an extreme amount of pressure on how to pull this big day together. Venue was the first thing I looked for when planning and MSB was such a blessing to stumble upon! Their policies are like no other because they have a FOUNDATION OF FLEXIBILITY. I found other venues just told me what we can't do while the staff of MSB was always telling me what we could do and how they could help and accommodate. Other venues we looked at had restrictions on start times and vendors which I feel benefitted the venue and not US. We had a lot of DIY decor for our wedding so the ability to get into the venue at 8am the day of the event was so important. MSB has natural charm and unique features and you can truly create any atmosphere you imagine- rustic, elegant, modern, etc. We went for an industrial chic look and my guests praised the feel of the venue, it felt so special and exclusive. MSB has an adorable bridal suite full of all the accommodations you don't realize you need until: your phone battery is low (charging station), you can't put your dress on without sitting down (plush couch), you need some privacy to change (curtain section in corner) and your best girlfriends need to look their best too (several mirrored changing stations). Kate, the Owner, and Laura, the Director, were fantastic to work with! They were responsive to every request and question and were invested in making our day special. When I mentioned concern with my guests finding the venue they illustrated a map and posted it on their website and had 3 new directional signs made! I found them to be extremely resourceful and full of good ideas on how to utilize the space to match our vision.

Main Street Ballroom is a gorgeous site in a truly beautiful historic town - a great backdrop in photos! We did our ceremony and reception here, and the owners were super flexible in how we set up and used the space, which was very accommodating. We chose all our own vendors and were able to bring in our own alcohol which saved us a lot! The only real con was there were other people roaming around checking out the venue during our rehearsal - where we were under the impression we had the space reserved. It was very distracting and they were in the way of our processional practice even after we requested to have the space to ourselves.

My husband and I were one of the first couples to get married at Main Street Ballroom. We originally picked MSB for our July wedding because of its unique industrial aesthetic, ability to accommodate a 200 person wedding, open vendor contracting, central location in the heart of Ellicott City, and promise to have both a beautiful outdoor space and indoor space to accommodate for hot summer weather. PROS: Everyone loved the inside look of MSB. The renovated industrial space is gorgeous. The white barn doors were the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Many of our guests came from out of town, so it was important to us that our venue was easily accessible. It was great having a venue that was less than half an hour from BWI. We loved that we were able to bring in our own licensed caterer without restrictions. The bridal suite, additionally, was perfect for our large bridal party to get ready in, with its many mirrors, outlets, and seating options. The owners allowed us to rehearse and partially set up the day before our wedding, which saved us a lot of stress the day of. Furthermore, on our actual wedding day, we had so much time to get ready. We were able to get into the venue to get ready at 8am, and stayed to clean up until nearly midnight. CONS: Unfortunately, my husband and I both found management defensive, non-communicative, and incredibly difficult to work with. While they promote their business as being flexible and without the gimmicks and hassles of other wedding venues, they failed to communicate any major (the decision to not have a real patio) or minor (taking down pictures, removing fluorescent lights) changes to us, were rude and defensive when we asked about such changes, and refused to accommodate or compensate us for the distress and hassle it caused. Frankly, working with the MSB management was by far the most stressful part of our wedding planning. CONCLUSION: Ultimately, MSB is a gorgeous venue but provides subpar customer service.
