I haven't had my wedding here yet but my fiance and I can't wait. We have been very happy so far with what the staff at Rusty Pelican has done for us. It has a beautiful rustic elegance and the food we had at their restaurant was incredible.

If you have a less than great experience at the rusty pelican they have you sign a NDA. I was the maid of honor for a wedding which was going to take place at the Rusty Pelican and thank god it didn't. We had heard some bad things about one of the event coordinators who works there so we made sure we didn't deal with him. Instead we worked with this very nice woman in her late 20's. after the deposit was put down and other payments were made they told us that the coordinator we had worked with was no longer working there so we had to work with the person we were trying to avoid. they reason we were trying to avoid him was because we knew people who worked with us who told us their cake was 2 hours late to the reception because of him and that he was extremely rude to each of the brides. We stood our ground and demanded the deposit and everything back. On the plus side when it is sunset and you are having your reception in one of the ballrooms... good god it makes for gorgeous pictures.

Haven't had my wedding yet, it's in a few months, but overall they really do try to make you feel special when you are with them in person. The best part so far is they have a tasting where you meet with other brides and grooms to be and you get a complimentary tasting of what you plan to serve at your wedding. It was extrememly helpful because ended up changing the side dish after not really liking the side dish we initially chose. So its a great way to make you that you will love what ia served at the wedding. Sometimes phone and email communications can take a while to get a response, if at all. I assume it's because they are busy but it can be annoying at times. Overall I'm glad to have found this place and cant wait to be marries there.

We loved everything about the Rusty Pelican! We honestly didn't look at any other venue sites in Tampa because we were so impressed that we could get the best of both worlds: a great outside water view, but an indoor ceremony (hey its FL, its HOT). Mike Jessup was our coordinator and he was great to work with. Always answered all of our questions and 90% of the time just called me personally after I sent an e-mail. They make everything easy and have you work with preferred vendors (which you can choose different ones if you wish). The Rusty Pelican also fit my personality of being super organized and on-time. The day of the event went great. They had everything set up and taken care that we didn't have to worry about a thing. I did feel a little rush after the ceremony before our grand entrance and wish I had more time with just my husband and myself to take pictures, but it was nice to have 10 minutes to ourselves. The food was awesome and everyone raved about it. The space size was also perfect too (had about 80 guest)!! I loved every min. of our wedding and only wish it would have lasted longer! Highly recommend and believe it was a great value for everything that is included in your package.

Mike Jessup was so helpful and made my day worry free! He thought of things I completely forgot about and made the day as seamless as possible. I couldn't have done it without him! The place was gorgeous and as a destination wedding in Florida, it was cool inside yet you still felt like you were in Florida with the amazing sunset view!

We recently got married on May 30th 2015 and the rusty pelican was our venue for both ceremony and reception. We were married inside in the grand ballroom (by choice not by rain) and had our reception there as well. It is GORGEOUS. If you want a view of the water and city skyline you can't get a better place (trust me we looked). Positives: - You may be turned off by Don at first, but he is amazing at what he does. He organized everything flawlessly and helps keep you on track. - The preferred vendor program. We loved it! It takes away the stress of looking for someone if you don't already know them and ALL of the vendors we worked with were phenomenal. It definitely helped that they were familiar with the venue. - The food: AMAZING. We did the tasting a ways ahead of time and I'm glad we did! We changed our minds about what we originally wanted and it was easy to adjust. - The service the night of was great. We did buffet so we didn't have plated dinners but the staff was all accommodating and helped keep us on schedule. - Flexibility: we had no trouble making appointments and got to set up our own decorations before the florist came the morning of (we had some items for the table and a candy bar, pictures etc.) Negatives: - Not many but it is VERY pricey. It was the best day ever but we shelled out a lot of cash per person. the prices actually went up a bit after we booked and signed our papers - the event minimum was super confusing to me. I still don't know if tax was included in the minimum for food or not because we were right on the border and one paper said one thing and emails said another - communicating was sometimes difficult the month of. Granted we got married the busiest time of year but sometimes emails weren't responded to or all questions weren't answered. Overall it was the most gorgeous night and if we had to do it again we would definitely still pick the rusty pelican!

I loved this venue the food was excellent. The venue was beautiful and they make the entire wedding planning process so easy by providing a list of vendors for you who offer discount rates. Also on the day of the wedding the staff was on point with everything. The only downfall was I went through 3 different wedding coordinators in a year due to them no longer working with the company. I got a new wedding coordinator named Don at the last minute and he definitely dropped the ball on a few things. Luckily I didn't get picked for Four Weddings because I definitely would have lost. So I would recommend the venue 100% but I would say either choose your own wedding coordinator or wake up early to do things yourself to make sure it gets done.

The Rusty Pelican is a gorgeous venue. Our coordinator was Don, and he made sure that everything went off without a single hiccup. I couldn't have imagined it anywhere else...The food was amazing, everyone was so organized. The only issue i had was that it wasn't long enough. Some venues let you extend. This one did not.

The Rusty Pelican saved me from a huge meltdown! I was having a hard time finding a cost effective venue for a reception for under 80 people. Everywhere I looked I have to rent the venue, hire catering, find a place for ceremony, etc etc etc. Once I stepped foot in the building I knew I found the place. I kept seeing Rusty Pelican on lists of places to look at but the name kept turning me off. It is so beautiful and classy, right on the water, and they take care of almost everything! The ceremony, the food, they pay for your cake, linens, seating, and dance floor. The only vendors I had to hire were photographers, the DJ, and the florist. I used their preferred vendors list to get all the vendors and they all were so awesome. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was working with Nicole as my coordinator (which is also included). She really made sure everything went off perfectly.

I had Don as my wedding coordinator. He was professional, and kept everything flowing. They break down everything in the paperwork and tell you exactly what is due when. There is an open house so you can see each room inside and their "preferred vendors" all set upa nd able to speak with them. The best part about this venue was my wedding day was 100 % stress free. They handled everything and my vendors(that day) as well. My wedding was in the grand ballroom and was breathtaking. My guests all loved the food and the view (two walls of ceiling to floor windows overlooking the bay). The only thing I wasnt a fan of was there is no rehearsals the day before, but it all worked out anyhow.
