My wife and I struggled to find the perfect venue to host our wedding reception in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, but one we visited Double Tree Mundelein, we knew very quickly this was the perfect venue for us. In the early planning stages, we worked with Rita, the hotel’s events coordinator, to iron out every detail leading up to the wedding. She did a great job throughout the year of working with us to make sure everything went as we planned, including creating with my wife a surprise Star Wars cake reveal that became a highlight of our wedding. On the day of our wedding, my wife and I took a break between the photos and dinner to take a minute to ourselves in the suite provided by the hotel, and Rita sent up some appetizers to the room for us to snack on. We really appreciated those personal touches that verified that we picked the right place to hold our reception. On the day of the wedding, everyone at the hotel went above and beyond for us and our guests. Harley and the rest of the hotel staff worked tirelessly to make sure our guests were taken care of; they handled everything from room block coordination to shuttles to and from our ceremony for our guests. Our guests spoke highly of their hotel rooms, the reception hall, and the layout of the hotel which provided a spacious yet aesthetically-pleasing entranceway for the cocktail hour before dinner. We heard nothing but fantastic comments about the food they provided, especially the chicken and steak, which our guests have been complementing us about for the last few weeks. Overall, I highly recommend Double Tree Mundelein-Libertyville for anyone looking to hold their wedding reception here. My company has also been involved in meetings at the hotel, and they’ve similarly done a great job accommodating the needs of our company. I can’t say enough great things about Double Tree and their staff!

Rita and the DoubleTree were hands down the best part of my wedding planning experience. Almost everything else was stressful but working with Rita was amazing. She was so easy going and helpful. We met with her for the first time about 10 months before our wedding and she mentioned they were going to be remodeling the venue a bit which made me a little nervous but it really was a beautiful upgrade. When it came to the big day, myself and my bridesmaid were getting ready in the suite and Rita stopped up to check on us and see if there were any last minute things she could assist with. At the reception there were a million small things she did that I would have never even thought to as for but that were so thoughtful and great. For example, she knew we would be busy mingling during the cocktail hour and probably wouldn't have time to stand in line for drinks or even try any of our appetizers. She met me with my drink of choice and even had a plate of the appetizers up waiting for my husband and I when we made it up to the head table. I can't say enough about her. SHE IS AMAZING! The hotel is beautiful too!

We booked in the fall of 2014 and Rita worked with us throughout the following year on everything we'd need including but not limited to: Hotel Room Block Ceremony Room Setup Reception Room Setup Coordinating table linens and chairs Menu Tasting Bar Selection Getting us organized days leading up to the wedding Promptly answered e-mails and phone calls about room sizes, table setting options, ceremony room setup styles and more. The day of, Rita and her staff put together the decorations in our ceremony and reception room that we'd brought from home. She addressed the issue of our DJ getting sick and coordinated a replacement that did an amazing job, with out myself or my groom ever knowing there was an issue until the reception. She worked with our friend Pat on setting up so that he could play acoustic music for both the ceremony and reception. Led the wedding party downstairs before the ceremony to make sure that no one saw the bride before it was time. She coordinated having non-alcoholic champagne at a head table that couldn't have alcohol at it. When our ceremony ended on the early side she started the cocktail hour early so that our guests could start celebrating. Our wedding went off with out a hitch and I know it was because Rita and her team went above and beyond any expectation to make sure that our day ran smoothly and was as memorable as possible. I can not recommend Rita, her team and the DoubleTree Libertyville-Mundelein enough.

We cannot thank Rita, Stacy, and the entire DoubleTree staff enough for making our wedding so special!! From our first meeting with Rita Lavelle we were put at ease by her professionalism, her patience listening to our endless questions, and her experience and insight! Rita helped us with every aspect of our wedding day from getting us situated with the front desk to set up our room block, picking out the linens for our tables, getting us connected with the baker for our cake, our food tasting, and the setup of our ballroom to accommodate some special tables we requested. All our questions were answered promptly and thoroughly and we were never made to feel like we were asking too many questions. We had complete confidence in the entire staff but especially Rita and Stacy which made wedding planning much less stressful! I had debated about hiring a day of wedding planner to make sure things ran smoothly but decided against it and we really didn't need it because Rita was so organized and made sure our day was as perfect as if it had been for one of her own children. The food was by far some of the best food I've had at a wedding - from the appetizers, entrees, and even our late night snack and sweets table! We received numerous compliments from our guests on the beautiful room and the wonderful food! The setup for the hotel is perfect for a wedding even for the 300+ guests we were anticipating when we selected the DoubleTree and we really liked that there is only one ballroom so we were the only wedding that night and then we were able to continue our celebration with friends and family at the end of the night at the Karma bar and restaurant in the hotel lobby. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone and could not be happier about our decision to have our wedding reception at the DoubleTree!!

I had my wedding ceremony and reception here. Rita the event planner was fantastic! She made everything so easy and seamless. She was very responsive to emails and phone calls. All of my questions and requests were answered quickly. Rita and her team went above and beyond what I ever imagined to make sure my wedding day was perfect! Everyone was so attentive and the wedding could not have been better! The ceremony and reception were both beautiful! The food was delicious! All of our guests were raving about how good it was! The accommodations and room block were easy to manage and Harlie was wonderful to work with. Rita and Stacey kept everything moving on time and made sure the day was seamless. The whole team was absolutely wonderful! My fiance and I were truly able to enjoy ourselves and our day because we knew every detail was being taken care of and we didn't need to worry about a thing. I am so happy I chose this venue. I am so thankful to everyone at doubletree who made our wedding day so incredible!! I Highly Recommend them!!

Our wedding reception was exceptional!! We could not have asked for more! Rita was our event coordinator and everything was perfect! The room, the food, the service all exceeded expectations--everything we asked for was in place--not one thing overlooked. We had a unique travel theme and unusual centerpieces that needed to be "set up" on each table...19 different set ups..each one perfect! Our out of town guests loved the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the convenience to local activities. Everyone commented to us how much they enjoyed the venue, service and food and beverages. Thank you Rita and Doubletree you made our special day better than we had hope for!!

The Doubletree exceeded my expectations! Rita was amazing with organizing the wedding and setting it up. All of the guests loved the food and the venue. I would recommend the Doubletree to all couples.

We had both our wedding ceremony (outside in the beautiful courtyard) and reception at the DoubleTree. We are a couple who normally has high expectations of service, and our expectations were far exceeded! From the food, front desk, guest accommodations, shuttle, and planning and advice, everything was terrific. Rita Lavelle is so knowledgeable, was wonderful to work with and offered ideas to make the day exactly what we wanted. On the day of the wedding Rita handled so many details that I didn’t expect, and getting people in their places, we were able to relax and thoroughly enjoy the day. Even setting up a last minute breakfast for twenty guests was handled without a blink. Rita just gets things done. In addition Harlie, Stacey, Juan and Juan went above and beyond to assist us in planning and hosting the wedding. Attention to detail that you may not even realize, such as someone sweeping the courtyard walkway shortly before the ceremony, impressed me as well.

We had our ceremony and reception here. We were amazed and pleased at how well everything was handled and coordinated. Rita and Stacey took care of so many things for us, were easy to work with, and have great ideas. Our guests thought the food was delicious, and having the hotel rooms on site was so convenient. The shuttle service is a nice plus. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond what we expected. Thank you!!!

We had the best reception we could have hoped for at the Doubletree in Mundelein. We requested a couple of last minute changes and also had forgotten a cake topper. Rita and Stacey helped us with all our small problems with style and flare. They ensured the night went on without any issues and were just the best. It's really the people that make the night special, and everyone at the Doubletree did just that. Thank you so much!

We had our rehearsal supper here for my son. It was FABULOUS! Our menu was a choice of chicken parmesan with homemade marinara sauce, grilled center cut filet with herb roasted shallot sauce or herb encrusted filet of salmon with dill citrus sauce. The rest of the supper included salad of field greens with strawberries, toasted almonds and poppy seed dressing, chef choice of vegetables, herb roasted potatoes, and New York cheesecake with berry sauce. Everything was EXCELLENT! Everyone said their food was superb. I had told the servers I wanted supper served at 5:30 but b/c of traffic issues people were late. The servers said not to worry they would move supper back by 15 min and take care of everything. They did just that - took care of everything. I had made name cards in different colors so the servers would know who ordered what. All they had to do was come in and look for the color they needed and serve the food. It worked perfectly. I am 3 hours away and working with Rita and Stacey was so easy. They are both so nice and easy to work with. During the supper Stacey came and made sure everything was going good and how it should be. The servers were very quick in clearing plates and making sure waters were refilled. The tables were set up how I wanted and I came in and added my own decorations. This wasn't our 1st choice, but b/c of issues out of our control I had to find a different place and I am so glad I chose to use the hotel. We had a block of rooms reserved for the wedding so it really worked out good for the grandparents to finish supper and go to their rooms early if they wanted. I just can't say enough how pleased I was with the food, servers, banquet room and working with Rita and Stacey. They made sure everything was perfect and it was. If you choose this hotel you will be well satisfied!
