Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, we began dreaming up something new. Our roots are with Anthropologie, so a passion for experience and creating one-of-a-kind moments runs deep. I loved my bridesmaid dress. As the second maid of honor I had the privilege of choosing my own dress and for the price, I felt the value and fit of my dress was worth it. It didn't look cheap at all and it was a beautiful color and similar likeness to the photo as I ordered online. Thank you BHLDN! When my boyfriend proposes, I am considering buying a wedding dress from you. <3

I had such amazing service in the Westport, CT store my stylist Kelly was amazing. I fell in love with the pique gown. Once the dress arrived I took it to my seamstress and we noticed all these stains on it so I called in and the rep I spoke with said there was a production error and over 100 dresses were stained - ok fine..she sends me a label to ship it back, and she says that bhldn will send me a new dress same dress, same size etc. Well its been almost 4 weeks so I called in today and much to my surprise there was no exchange made they took my dress back and never sent me another. Both the rep and manager I spoke with today did not seem too sorry that this happened to me and the only solution they had was for me to order the dress all over again (which is harder than it sounds because it was a gift so now I have to harass the person who gifted me it to give me their billing info). After an unproductive call I suggested to the manager that I get some kind of discount to which she complied with a 30% discount - I guess that's generous but it requires me to place an order she said and then call in so that someone can reverse 30% back to me.. So thank you Kelly from Westport you made my bridal experience amazing but seriously no thank you bhldn you completely ruined my happy moment.

I attempted to order some shape wear for under my wedding gown off of their website and when it came to my door the box looked like it had fallen off the back of the truck and run over a couple times. I got to thinking and realized they do indeed sell wedding dresses and if it was my wedding dress inside I would have been livid. The other thing is there was no return label and I had to request a new one and the response I received from their email was not customer friendly and they didn't do anything extra to try and resolve the issue other than give me a one time complimentary return label saying that I wouldn't be able to request another if I lost it. Terrible customer service and shipping. won't be buying anything from them any time soon at least online...

I loved my experience at this store! I was helped by Sarah and she was amazing. The space is chaotic but fun, and I really enjoyed trying these dresses on. I found a fantastic dress for $350 and I was so impressed. The dresses are beautiful and they have something for all price points.

Let me start out by saying that I went to one of the Manhattan stores and had an amazing experience and received my dress within a few short days. Unfortunately when I got the dress I realized I should have been sized down one, because I was swimming in the dress. When I called customer service to ask them how to go about exchanging the size they explained that I can just send it back with the included shipping label and include a note saying I just wanted a smaller size. Unfortunately they had to do it as a return & then a new purchase, which somehow changed the price. I also realized that the money they refunded me for was less than I paid for the dress. After calling customer service multiple times, they told me they had no record of giving me less money that I was owed, and there was nothing they could do. I followed up with emails to customer service, including photos of receipts and credit card line items to call out the exact amounts of money they gave & did not give me and I haven't even received responses back.. As much as I love my dress, their customer service is absolutely terrible and I won't be buying anything from them in the future & have warned all of my friends about the bad experience.

I have had the WORST experience with bhldn.... And all I tried to order was swatches. The first time I ordered them I waited for a month and they hadn't shown up. So I emailed and asked what the deal was and they told me they lost the order and that I'd have to put in another order. I received confirmation for the second order and then....another month went by. So I called AND emailed and you know what they said? "Sorry there's nothing we can do you'll have to place the order again." For the THIRD TIME. I was super stoked to order bridesmaids dresses from them but if they can't even get something as simple as a few swatches to me, then how can I trust that I'll even receive the dresses I ordered? I am very dissatisfied with my experience with them. I even sent them an email that said generally everything I'm writing in this review and you know what their response was? Nothing. They didn't even reply. I DO NOT recommend using them for ANYTHING.

I went this weekend to the store in Portland. Jessea ended up helping me out and she was a doll. I brought along my mom, dad, and sister, and she rolled with the punches as put up with all of us so well. I chose three dresses online to try on and she brought out three others for me to get a really good feel for them. I ended up going with the third one. I was a bit nervous as this was the first shop I went to, but I decided it was better not to give myself too many options. :) All of their dresses are very reasonably priced but still felt amazing in quality. The dress I chose even has POCKETS!!! I had a wonderful experience and know I will feel so magical on my wedding day!

Today has been an absolute roller coaster of emotions. Apparently returning or Exchanging a garment at BHLDN after 30 days is harder than getting back-up support on a rooftop in Benghazi, but miracles do happen, and thankfully HC isn't running this company. Now that I have you politically riled up, let me tell you that miracles do happen and this is how. My first attempt at an exchange this morning was swiftly shut down with no hope of even speaking to a manager. This was after expressing that I wanted to purchase a more expensive dress as well. Why don't you want more money BHLDN?? After the "conversation" was ended I went to my closet, squeezed into my spanx and tried my dress on again. "Ok, if i start going to bed for dinner and do two-a-day cardio sessions for the next two months before the wedding, I could make this work." said the delusional and desperate bride-to-be. After my lunch, consisting of a single serve tuna packet with a side of air, I decided I would call back and hope for a more empathetic customer service representative. By some miracle I got her! I explained my situation and without hesitation she offered to speak to her manager. She did warn me that it was not very likely they would accept the exchange, but offered to try anyway. This absolute angel came back and sounded as surprised as me, but said they were going to allow me to either exchange my dress and not just because I was willing to pay for a more expensive one. She also offered the option of the larger size. My friends, if this is not a tale about what a little persistence and a lot desperation can do, then I don't know what is. I leave you with this, for those reading the negative reviews about their return/exchange policy, just know that if you catch a manger on a good day you might just be able to make your return! What a way to run a company, amiright!? But seriously BHLDN update your archaic 30 day exchange policy. It is absurd.

I wouldnt recommend BHLDN to anyone expecting to receive quality service. I received an unmarked completely mysterious gift card and had to rudely ask all of my family and friends who it was who gave it to me. My mother in law who gave it to me said she wrote a note in the corresponding box and everything, but it came in an envelope with a blank card and no information or invoice or anything. Then I used said gift card to buy a chemise and robe for my wedding day. My chemise arrived and several weeks later (the robe did say it was shipping later), I checked the shipping and it hadnt moved from its last point. After contacting BHLDN they said it was lost in transit and would refund my money in up to 5 business days. I didnt want a refund...it was a gift card I just wanted the robe. After much frustrating back and forth they decide to ignore my requests completely and just refund my money, WITHOUT shipping. And as well all know, they charge $8 for shipping whether its a tiny gift card or a 4 ounce robe. So I have contacted them endlessly. Still no refund. Horrendous customer service. And a total let down on major wedding day attire. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend BHLDN unless you dont care if you receive your important items and can handle horrible customer service.

I had to return a dress I ordered online due to sizing. I did not realize that when I had tried on the dress, I got some dog hair on the bottom where the dress drags on the ground. They refused my return and sent the dress back to me. My issue is that they sent the dress back to me rolled into a ball, barely covered in plastic, and shoved into a broken and ripped cardboard box. The dress is extremely wrinkled due to how carelessly it was shipped. So now not only am I stuck with a dress that not only is too small and will need alterations, but will also need to be professionally steamed. I was told that there is nothing BHLDN can do. While everyone was courteous, I find it ridiculous that they would have such strict standards as to the condition at which I send the dress back, but refuse to remedy the fact that they sent a dress to me in such poor condition. I will not be shopping at BHLDN again after this experience, which is unfortunate because they have beautiful dresses.

If anyone is thinking about buying their items online, and not sure if you are going to like the products and going to want to return? please save yourself from stress and don’t do it. They take forever to process your return and will charge you a certain fee. I bought a wedding gown a month ago from the website and accidentally forgot to put down a small detail on the shipping address so they requested it to be mailed back to them right after it was shipped out. Long story short, I never received it, so I started waiting for my refund which is almost $900. Their policy states that it might take up to 2 weeks so 2 weeks later I called and was told that my return was never submitted to the return/refund department. And I kept on waiting again after being told to wait 3-5 business days 2-3 times. Fast forward 4 weeks later, they sent me an email saying my refund has been processed and that it’s gonna take 3 business days to post to my credit card and up to 2 billing cycle to appear on my billing statement!? On top of that the amount they stated to be refunded to me is $15 short. I emailed them back asking why and still no response. This is the worst online purchase I’ve ever made. They took my money so fast when I placed the order and are taking forever to give me a refund because they said they had to processe refunds by the dates they received the returns. And I’m guessing they must have Hundreds of returns to process since it takes so darn long. So ladies, stay away!!

I am so frustrated with this brand. I love everything they sell, and bought so many items from them. But the ordering and the return process is honestly such a pain in the a** that I will no longer be using them. First off, shipping is only free if you place the order over the phone. Since they never find your information on their system, every time you call, you have to give ALL your details all over again. It takes forever for them to ship the items after placing an order. Since they use USPS (which is shocking for an Anthro sister brand to be using USPS), you never know when you will actually receive your items. Then the return saga begins. It takes again forever for them to receive the item (thanks USPS), and once they do, it takes at least 5-6 business days for them to acknowledge they received the items. They then CHARGE the customer for the return fee even though their labels clearly say returns are PRE PAID. Then I have to reach out for every order and point this out so they can separately return all the $5s they've charged me for shipping. As of now, they have about $1000 of my money and god only knows when I will receive it back (with/without return fee). The items are all gorgeous and I really love everything they sell but my god what a nightmare. For reference, I placed an order with a cheap dress brand and they shipped my order in 2 days via UPS. I already returned and got my money back. BHLDN should be ashamed of themselves for the crappy service they provide. I am amazed they are able to work this way in this day and age.
