This was simply one of the most wonderful, charming, stunning, and uniquely Bostonian venues to have our wedding. Not only were the guests absolutely raving about the old world charm and New England spirit, but the food was out of this world. Our guests have told us things repeatedly like, "I have been to over twenty weddings and I have never had wedding food like this," or " I don't know what I liked the best, the ambiance or the food, they both are a amazing." The price point for the quality of services provided are unrivaled, you will NOT find a single venue ANYWHERE in Boston that is even remotely close to the cost to value and charm of Smith.... Go ahead,, try, you will not find it. Furthermore our Wedding coordinator at Smith and Wollensky Catherine was amazing, full of ideas, attention to detail, and made every aspect of our wedding perfect! She desires a lion's share of credit for making the event completely stellar. Thank you Catherine for everything.

When our daughter got engaged and decided to have her wedding in Boston (we live in Minneapolis, but Boston is her college town), the first thing we did is start to look for a venue. We looked at everything - hotels, barn venues, and even a winery or two. But Smith & Wollensky stood out from the very moment we looked at pictures. Then, serendipitously, there was a wedding show at Smith & Wollensky right about the time our daughter and her fiancé returned to Boston for their senior year. They loved it for the castle-like feel right in the middle of urban Boston. Planning with Catherine could not have been easier. She took care of all of the details, asked good questions that helped us make good decisions, and even stepped in and helped me with a vendor or two. But, for as beautiful as the venue is and for as easy as Catherine and Lisa were to work with, I did not know how perfect a venue could be until wedding day. It was gorgeous! And the food was the best food I have EVER had at a wedding. We had a choice of filet, chicken, or sea bass. I was lucky enough to try all three at our table and they were fantastic. And the bread and hashed browns and salad and brussels could not have been prepared more perfectly. Oh . . . and I can't forget about the bartenders . . . SO nice and accommodating. In short, I cannot recommend Smith & Wollensky highly enough. It is a dream venue in downtown Boston with top-notch food, super easy access to Boston Common (great photos), and lots of nearby hotels.

This place was the best! My husband and I didn't do a sit down dinner. Instead, we did a 2-5pm cocktail reception with a small band. Smith and Wollensky was open to this new venture with us and made it beautiful! We used their linens and plates and the food was so amazing! It certainly wasn't a cheese and cracker wedding. We had mini sliders, a mac and cheese bar, a charcuterie bar, and so much more. My guests left so full and satisfied! Best service you can ask for. The best part? You're in a castle in the middle of Boston! You can't get better than that! We mainly worked with Catherine Leiras who was absolute doll and she's brilliant. Catherine couldn't be there that day so we had Lisa Rossetti who was ALSO a doll and brilliant. These ladies are the best!

A beautiful venue on the upper floors at Smith & Wollensky, in backbay Boston. All of our wedding guests were wowed!! The staff was extremely helpful in organizing this event especially since we were planning this long distance from Miami, Florida for 6 moths prior to our wedding date. Every aspect of the wedding and reception went flawlessly with no distractions. We would recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding in Boston, not only great food, historical environment but pleasant professional and responsive staff to work with.

Smith & Wollensky in Back Bay was the location of our May 2015 Boston wedding reception venue, but they were more than just a location. As we were planning our wedding, they provided us with helpful guidance via their warm and welcoming Catering / Private Events Manager Catherine Leiras, as well as recommendations for photographers and up-lighting (both of which we were so happy with!). They went above the "call of duty" to enhance details which made the day go smoothly. We had some concerns about how the reception would flow due to our relatively large amount of guests (120) who moved twice between different floors for cocktails, dinner, and dancing. Catherine worked seamlessly with us and our wedding planner to create a schedule for the day that was executed perfectly. Included in our package was a space for our vendors to eat / bridal suite to bustle the dress. The two rooms we used (the Battle Room and one other) looked stunning with white linen tablecloths and floral arrangements, but honestly, the space is gorgeous even without the added decor. Catherine was excellent at communicating with our vendors and our family members- she was like a 2nd wedding planner for us-- and we are thrilled with this high quality customer care that Smith and Wollensky provided. It truly made them stand out from other reception venues that we had looked at previously, particularly in terms of customer service, food, and communication. One moment I will never forget-- as the bride, I was so hungry when we sat down at our table, because I had been too nervous to eat prior- and when I looked at the filet I asked my husband if there was steak sauce on the table. One of the servers actually READ MY LIPS from about 25 feet away and brought the sauce over immediately. I was floored! Thank you, S&W, we will 100% recommend you to other people for weddings or other events.

We wanted a formal but non-religious venue for our wedding ceremony, and Smith and Wollensky was perfect. The rooms themselves are so beautiful and stunning that we only needed a few flowers as extra decorations. The staff was very accommodating and even allowed for last minute seating number and time change. Our photos are gorgeous! They have a few different rooms to choose from, each are beautiful.

We got married here about a month ago, and we can't express how amazing our overall experience was with Smith and Wollensky as a whole. We first viewed this location in December 2013 and upon entering the building (after admiring the beautiful castle exterior) the building smelled like bacon, so we already knew we were off to a great start. We ended up choosing them as our venue because we are extreme foodies and the quality of their food is above and beyond any place we visited. They dry age their own steaks in house, which is something unique to them in Boston. We worked with Catherine Leiras for a year and a half, and she consistently went above and beyond for us in helping coordinate with our vendors and figuring out what we needed for our wedding. Our tasting a few months ago confirmed that their food was as amazing as we had remembered and we knew then, again, we had chosen the right place for our wedding. Our wedding day went as smoothly as we could have hoped for, with the staff, including Catherine, taking an all hands on deck approach to ensure so. The food, again, was delicious and all of our guests also commented on such as well as loving the venue and the professionalism of the staff. We had everything served to us such as mac and cheese bites, brie and fig crostinis, lobster rangoon, mini beef wellington bites, soup shooters (split pea, gazpacho), a crostini table, and entrees such as filet mignon, and sea bass. We aren't cake people so they again accommodated to our request of having house made cheesecake bites which the guests loved. The venue and event floors are beautiful, with wine bottles in the walls and having an overall warm and modern rustic feel to it. We can't thank them enough for our amazing wedding experience, as we joke now that we were married in the castle that the restaurant lies in, however, it was so much more than that in the end. Can't wait to go back for dinner!

It was so wonderful having our wedding reception in a castle! Catherine was very helpful throughout the whole process and made it as easy as possible. My whole wedding party had a blast and I would definitely go there again.

Delicious!! When my wedding venue was unable to host our rehearsal at a convenient time, I was horrified. It was the week of the wedding and I had 20 people coming to dinner without a place to eat. Boston doesn't have too many places in June with spare space for a large crowd. I was on a budget, but with this last minute snafu, I broke it. I just didn't want to worry about anything and so I called. They not only had a gorgeous room, they made everything very easy for us. Christine treated us like royalty and the rest of the staff (names I can't recall at this time) went above and beyond. We were able to get the full history of the castle and the room in which we were eating. The out of town guests and my foreign husband couldn't help but mosey around. I could not have been more satisfied!

We used Smith and Wolensky, Back Bay in Boston, specifically the Battle Room for our evening wedding reception after our church wedding. Lisa Rossetti, the event coordinator, was phenomenal. She coordinated every detail, the menu, set up, worked with florist(Winston's) and DJ (Ari Rosenfield of Beat Train Productions) and cake (Cakes to Remember by Ellen Bartlett) and the room looked magnificent and every detail was perfect. And the guests raved about the meal, especially the steak! It was a perfect day and Lisa was such a sweet, special person to work with and plan an event. She made it a truly over the top celebration, at a very reasonable price.

We had a third wedding celebration at Smith & Wollensky. While the first two were larger and lavish, this was our favorite (parents of the groom). We had this third event as brunch. As in all things wedding, the attention to detail is critical and the potential for things to go wrong is substantial. Catherine Leiras handled this intimate event with great aplomb- she responded to the seemingly never-ending changes- dates, number of guests, menu effortlessly and assumed the stress of such events. The atmosphere (fireplace in January), food, and service were great. The wedding party and parties with their guests thoroughly enjoyed this smaller wedding celebration.
