Everything went well. Guests enjoyed the event. The only special arrangement required was an extra partition between men and women and that was arranged satisfactorily. Our requirements were very straightforward (a dinner with outside caterers) and they were handled professionally. Obviously, there is always room for improvement. For example, Sheraton can offer multiple table setting choices within the same price range. Or for a modest increase the plates and silverware can be of higher quality. Basically some more options. Maybe the interior light can be a few lumens higher since the walls / interior is of dark color. It can always help if there is one or two full length mirrors inside the hall or mingle area. We are happy. Lucy did a great job

I was lucky enough to work with Whitney Vaillancourt at the Sheraton Premiere of Tysons. From the first initial view of the rooms to the night of the wedding, she was in constant contact making sure we had everything we needed. She not only helped to reserve the location when we were still in the process of deciding a reception location, but she also worked with us to ensure all of our guests were pleased with their rooms at the Sheraton. My husband and I instantly fell in love with her outgoing personality and we truly couldn't imagine having a better person to help make our day so special. I would highly recommend her and the Sheraton for all of their help throughout the process of planning my wedding.

To note, the Sheraton Premiere completed a full floor-to-ceiling renovation in early 2012. Everything from the reception venues, lobby, and guest rooms look fresh and modern. At around the same time, the Sheraton also hired new outstanding wedding coordinator; Whitney is very energetic, incredibly helpful, and just an overall great person to help plan and execute your wedding reception. Whitney helped us throughout the wedding process, and made sure we took care of things that may we may not have thought about on our own. Leading up to the wedding day and on the day of, Whitney made sure that the personal items for our guests made it to the cocktail hour and reception tables, and everything went very smoothly and as we discussed. Whitney always showed a very sincere & genuine interest in making sure our day was perfect… even going so far as whipping out a sewing kit and fixing the wedding gown bustle that tore during the reception. We never met the chef, who did not venture out of the kitchen during the tasting, but she welcomed the opportunity to exercise creativity by putting together hors d'oeuvre and entrée concepts that we developed ourselves. The food was great from cocktail hour and throughout the reception. All in all, the Sheraton may have hit a “rough patch” in 2010/2011, but between the full renovation and the huge upgrade in staff, this is definitely a venue you should check out as an option for your wedding (or other major event).

I used the Capitol club as the venue for my reception and absolutely loved it. The room is so unique and was perfect for my reception of about 100 people. The staff was very attentive to the needs of the guests. The food was very good and the planning was easy. We met with Bill Hedgpeth at least 3 times prior to the wedding and were able to discuss all the details we needed to. Bill was great at responding to any of our needs and was quick to respond to e-mails. I would absolutely recommend this venue to a friend.

The Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner is one of Washington DC's hidden gems when it comes to holding a wedding reception party. Their Grand Ballroom is spacious and has an upper balcony that adds a special touch. The unique factor is that the Ballroom's ceiling is high making the room incredibally large. Many banquet halls are rectangular with a low ceiling, giving the feel of being cramped. This is not the case at Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner. Another big advantage at this facility is its Junior Ballroom. The Junior Ballroom connects to the Grand Ballroom, and allows for a great place to have Dinner in a buffet fashion. With use of the Junior Ballroom, it allows for guests to easily pick up food, as well as mingle, while allowing for seating and dancing to happen with ease in Grand Ballroom. Make sure to get this option when choosing this facility. The Sheraton staff was friendly and easy to work with. Furthermore, the facility allows for outside catering if you choose to do this. Ask for Shaier Heidar when booking this facility, as he is a gem to work with.

Lucy was great to work with! The chef we worked with as well was great. Although the night of my wedding when the food came out, it was not even close to what I had asked for. Only aspect of negativity. They did make it right after the wedding.

I held my New Years Eve wedding at the Capitol Club in the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner. We liked the room because of its unique layout. Wedding Coordinator Courtney J worked with us on ideas for using the various areas of the room. Our event went very well - the Sheraton pulled everything together and it was beautiful. Our guests loved the food and we thought the room decor turned out very well. Although the final event went well, I had a number of problems with responsiveness and coordination through the planning process. Our room block had to be adjusted three times because guests were being told that the block was full when that was not true. I also didn't iron out the details of the wedding and get the BEO until the Monday prior to my Thursday evening wedding because the Sheraton staff went out of town for the holidays without working out the details for my event beforehand. There was also a miscommunication about the linen colors that were available. Nevertheless, in spite of this planning stress, our event was beautiful.

We used the main (Fairfax) ballroom at Sheraton and ended up having around 330 guests. The manager, Amissi, was easy to work with but was a little slow with returning emails at first (until the wedding planner started contacting him). The hotel staff was also difficult to work with - the folks in the hotel reservations department and financial department were the worst. We had a heck of a time trying to submit our rooming lists for each room; when we asked to speak with someone else in the department, we were directed to the person who we had been struggling with for a week. Her manager didn't seem to care that she was not doing a good job of organizing our guests into their appropriate rooms, even after we had submitted the rooming lists to her. We used their room rate for about 25 rooms and it was very reasonable for the area, but beware there is no shuttle service from any nearby airports. Our guests were happy with the rooms, which were updated and modern looking. We also booked a couple of suites for our parents and those were very nice as well. The quality of the rooms was great, the service was ok. The hotel front desk staff had a hard time keeping up with the size of our party and kept getting confused. Also, note that they have a charge if you want the hotel front desk to distribute welcome bags. The venue itself is beautiful and the ballroom was grand, which is what we wanted. Overall, I'm not sure that I would use this venue again. Yes it is beautiful and the rooms were nice, but given the service we were receiving, we might be better off going elsewhere.

The photos posted here are outdated. The hotel was renovated a couple of years ago. We had our wedding in the ballroom on the 2nd floor. I loved the high ceiling and chandelier. We had 275 guests and the octagon-shaped ballroom allowed tables to be arranged "together" without tables in the corner. The cocktail hour area was a little tight but it wasn't a problem. Logistics were easy (parking garage, discounted hotel rooms, convenient location close to the highway). My only issue with Sheraton was working with the Banquet Department. It took 3-4 months from when I first contacted Sheraton to when I actually signed papers. I was the one who continuously contacted them, requested to meet, requested papers, etc. From what I understand, they had an unexpected staff turnover but it was still unacceptable. It was not until I was so frustrated and decided to go with another venue did they finally return my calls/emails. I will say that the best thing about Sheraton (aside from the ballroom itself), is working with the Catering Coordinator, Whitney Vaillancourt. I think she was hired after the initial ordeal. Whitney was super responsive, friendly, and really made me feel at ease with the whole process. I think she has since left Sheraton, so I'm not sure what the Banquet Department is like anymore.
