We hired Courtney for month of coordination for our Wedding this past January and couldn't have been more pleased. She was very organized and very responsive to all our questions and concerns. We had weekly phone meetings and she ensured everything was set to go leading up to the wedding. She did an excellent job laying out the schedule and keeping everyone moving over the course of the day. Most importantly she made sure I was worry free the day of! I highly recommend her!

Courtney provides expertise, online tools, and organization to facilitate extraordinary events that allow you to enjoy the day rather than deal with logistics. She will work tirelessly on your behalf. Her professional manner ensures that people are at the right place at the right time. She maintained very good, professional relationships with numerous vendors, attendants, and guests. She oversaw set-up and tear-down of our event ensuring everything was just as we envisioned and meticulously cared for—which included rental and client-supplied items. She brought a number of great ideas to our event as our “day of” planner and made some outstanding suggestions in response to problems that had stymied us in our planning process. She also noticed that we hadn’t allowed enough time between some tasks. Using her suggestions we were able to enjoy each part of the day more fully, were much less stressed, and able to stay on schedule. When my daughter returned from her honeymoon, she commented that Courtney was on top of everything all day allowing her to be fully present for each moment (no worrying about something amiss or anxiety about something to come). Courtney is an incredibly hard worker; no task is too small or too big for her.

Courtney is simply the best wedding planner. We hired Courtney for full planning and my only regret is that we didn't hire her sooner! We already had a contract in place with the venue before we started working with Courtney and I wish we had waited, she spotted some kinks in the contract right away. Courtney put me completely at ease with the whole planning process. She walked us through every step, no detail was too small. She also worked with us so that we never felt overwhelmed - in fact we felt like there should be more to do at times, but it was just that Courtney had managed everything so perfectly we were ahead of schedule! She has so many contacts with vendors that we rarely had to meet multiple vendors, she connected us with the best option first and in some cases she was able to negotiate discounts. She is also so practical, she never recommended things that were going to be extravagant or outside of our budget. I'm totally not a design person and she designed such a beautiful reception, we had so many compliments on the colors, lighting, and flowers. She really has an eye for what works well and I completely trusted her. On the actual day, I never felt like anything was out of place and everything ran like clockwork. I'm sure there were kinks behind the scenes but Courtney handled everything - even swooping in to save us from chatty relatives and make sure we ate dinner! She also just a wonderful, down to earth person. Hire her!

Hiring Courtney for our day-of wedding coordination was the best decision we made for our wedding. Courtney was incredibly organized and got in touch with all of our vendors, handled the schedule, and even helped us with our DIY setup. They day was practically effortless to us and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. Everything went perfectly, and I never knew about some hiccups that Courtney took care of until we heard about them later.

Wow! We hired Courtney to help us with partial planning for our wedding as we were living overseas until a few weeks before the big day. Even before we hired her she offered to create a video walk through of the venue we were thinking about booking! We communicated with her via Skype and an event planning website - which worked perfectly for us - especially bearing in mind time differences etc. Then once we were in the States she attended catering & cake tastings with us and we had a few meetings to cover all the final details. We feel that Courtney helped us actually save money and keep within budget! She kept everything under control and thought of things that we would never have remembered to organise. We were grateful to have her at our rehearsal and again on our wedding day as she made sure everything ran like clockwork and swiftly helped us out when it became apparent that we had forgotten to download the Mother-Son dance!! (luckily none of the guests noticed!)

We procured Courtney's services for the day of our event. She was an absolute God send! Not only was she on top of our 18 hour day (which included a 6 hour wedding ceremony!) but she also ensured that the wedding party did not have to worry about a single thing! She took care of all our vendors, all the questions and ensured that all went smoothly. From dawn (we began at 6AM) to way past midnight (she was the last to leave at 2AM) Courtney was on the ball and a source of endless energy with a smile on her face :) Highly professional, Courtney is to the point and does not waste any time. You want your day to go according to plan? Hire Courtney!

Working with Courtney and A Sweet Soiree was the best decision that we made while planning our wedding! As soon as I met with Courtney, I knew that I wanted to work with her. We used the full planning services. Throughout the entire planning process and on our wedding day, we never felt stressed. I truly think that was because Courtney kept us on schedule and would give us tasks/decisions to make along the way. So as the wedding approached, we felt really organized. Courtney also respects your budget and helped us to decide what was most important to us, and where we could save money. She knows tons of vendors in the area, and everyone that she recommended to us was amazing. She’s very creative and had an awesome idea for our flowers (which we received many compliments on!). She provided a detailed schedule for our wedding day, which was very helpful. We had so much confidence in Courtney and we knew that if there were problems on the actual wedding day, she would know exactly how to take care of them. We never worried or stressed about anything the whole day- we just enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend Courtney and A Sweet Soiree!

Our most regrettable wedding planning decision was to sign a contract with a Sweet Soiree. Services provided by Ms. Swierczek were sub-par. Although her website characterization is “fun and fabulous”, we found her unprofessional, negative, disrespectful, condescending and adversarial. She was a source of significant and consistent stress. At no time did we feel Ms. Swierczek was supporting us or looking out for our interests. We would characterize her customer service and communication skills as abysmal. She became defensive if we took exception to her statements or directives thus preventing a constructive exchange of ideas or feedback. Since the services provided by Ms. Swierczek were of such poor quality, we paid for services including several hours of in-person consultation time that we could find absolutely no productive way to use. An example of unprofessional behavior occurred during our venue walk-though. She appeared completely unprepared for what we understood was a critical meeting. When we corrected her misstatement of a relevant fact, Ms. Swierczek was observed visibly pouting. Later at a meeting with the catering manager, Ms. Swierczek was not engaged and spent significant time texting/emailing on her mobile device. The contract required an initial 60% payment and final 40% payment thirty days before the wedding. Final payments for other vendors were due on the wedding day. The contract also included a provision which permitted Ms. Swierczek to cancel the contract at any time and retain all payments. Ms. Swierczek canceled our contract that had been in effect for 10.5 months, 2.5 weeks before the wedding date without any attempt to negotiate issues. Negative reviews of Sweet Soiree were drafted long before the contract was terminated. We hoped to include praise for Ms. Ellen Head, our day of coordinator whom we found to be professional, polite and pleasant. We urge you to avoid the nightmare of A Sweet Soiree.
A Sweet Soiree responded with the following comments:
We are in agreement that this relationship was unsuccessful. We are not in agreement with regards to the source of significant hostility that led to the unraveling of the relationship. After non-payment from the client and after heavy consideration on our part, we chose to terminate our agreement with this client, the first time in 6 years of business that we’ve even considered taking this action. During our planning, it was very apparent that no matter what actions we took, this client could not be satisfied. We tried repeatedly to please them, including several things which were not part of our contract and provided free of charge, such as the creation of a professional, to scale floor plan, and a 14-page personalized coloring book for kids to have at her wedding. Our efforts were belittled and met with disdain. We were completely prepared for the client’s walk through. The client’s confirmed menu was the only thing missing, which her daughter was to provide. After the client failed to communicate a change in their florist, I simply inquired about the status of a new florist’s contract, causing the client to become extremely belligerent and unprofessional toward me. Given the emotional state of the client, my participation in the later meeting was mostly limited to note taking (not texting/emailing) on my phone. We realize that the time approaching a wedding can be difficult, and have successfully navigated this period and eased the stress for many dozens of families/clients. However, this client created an environment where my employee (Ellen) and I both felt physically unsafe working with them any longer. I regret the timing of the cancellation, but the client's hostility had burned bridges, coinciding with non-payment for our services, and I could no longer in good conscience subject my employee to the environment created by this client.

We hired Courtney at a Sweet Soiree to help plan our wedding from afar. We live in California and were planning a wedding in the Washington, DC area. We also didn't have any family "on the ground" in the DC area to help, so Courtney was the main point of contact for us for all of our needs. First and foremost, Courtney is very protective of your budget and timeline. She understands how easy it is to get carried away and always makes thoughtful recommendations to help you stay on track. She also made sure that everything happened according to timeline and in conjunction with our few visits to the east coast - making our visit efficient and easy for us. Secondly, Courtney is so well connected. I can't imagine that I would ever have found our venue (which was PERFECT) without her help or the countless other vendors (florist which we loved, food that was AMAZING, etc.). We didn't have to do any research for the most part as she already had a Rolodex full. The cost for a Sweet Soiree is so worth the time you'd have to spend researching vendors alone. Courtney uses Basecamp (a project management website) to help keep you organized, which I found very helpful. In hindsight, I wish I had hoped on the phone a bit more to discuss details since I was far away, but Basecamp helped us track progress and have a single place to organize ourselves. I really appreciated this. Overally, Courtney and a Sweet Soiree made our wedding just perfect. There are very few things that we would change. If you're looking for a planner that is direct, well-connected and will ensure that you don't have to worry about a thing on your big day - this is a great choice!

Courtney was recommended by a friend, and I am so happy we were able to work with her! I think its helpful to know what we were looking for in order to help others, so here's a little about us. We both work pretty demanding jobs (late nights, etc) and had very little time to devote to planning. We are not from the area, so also needed help with finding good, reliable South Asian vendors. We're not control freaks about most things, and we were VERY happy to get help in making decisions. The bottom line is that Courtney and her team will work with you to make your day SO special! She is amazing at thinking of all the details that make the whole day work smoothly. She is also really great at reminding you to get stuff done on time! We also worked with Ellen for our Sangeet, and she is AWESOME!! The one thing that we didn't like much was the planning website that we used to keep track of stuff. It was a little difficult to find stuff, and it took awhile to get used to how to use it to communicate with each other and the team. I doubt that there are alot of options for planning apps, so this is probably the best of the bunch. Overall, get on their schedule! You won't be disappointed!

Courtney was great to work with. Very organized and on the ball. She also had great ideas. I was living in between LA and DC at the time and trying to plan a wedding across the country was tough. Courtney listened to my husband's and my needs and helped us pick the perfect venue mixing rustic with elegant. We got so many compliments on our wedding reception during and after. The location we chose was in Middleburg so it pulled our DC friends past Dulles airport to the close but world-away-feeling area of the VA countryside. My only critique of the event was that the caterer we used (which Courtney introduced us to) had never done an event at that particular venue. There were a lot of leftover hors d'oeuvres that never got passed around and clean up was a bit of a bear. Courtney was great with menu planning, flowers, and the overall look and feel of the event. Would definitely recommend her!
