1840s was a fabulous venue for our wedding reception. We held the cocktail hour in the Caberet room and the dinner and dancing in the city lights room. The guests had so much fun with all of the wonderful spaces in both locations. The staff was amazing throughout our planning and I was also delighted with how professional and attentive they were during the event. I highly recommend this venue for any event.

Amy, Thank you for spending your wedding day with us at the 1840s Plaza! We are happy to hear that the first floor, Cabaret, and second floor, City Lites, provided a wonderful space for you and your guests to enjoy! Thank you so much for your feedback. Best wishes from the 1840s Plaza staff!

The 1840s Carrollton Inn was the perfect setting for our small, private wedding ceremony. Stasia and Dianna took care of everything--from setting up the site, to arranging our officiant and photographer, to ensuring that none of the B&B guests accidentally walked through our ceremony or photo shoot. Our officiant, Raina, was excellent. She customized our ceremony to suit our styles, and even stayed and chatted with our guests while we were having our formal pictures taken. The Inn's photographer, John Zito, couldn't have been better. Despite us meeting him for the first time on our wedding day, John really captured the moment and took some wonderful, non-traditional photos around the Inn's beautiful property. We would highly recommend this venue.

1840's was perfect for our wedding! Stasia and Dianna were so helpful and were basically like wedding planners making sure the day went off without a hitch. I knew the moment I saw this venue that this was the place I was going to get married. I couldn't imagine a more perfect location. We got married in the small outdoor area and then had our reception in the City Lites room which I thought had so much character and was less expensive than the ballroom.

We hosted our wedding at 1840s on a Saturday evening in March and everything went great. We were lucky in that there were no other reservations of the other floors (we were told that if no one booked another event by one month prior to our wedding date we could use other floors in the building) and we were able to have our run of the whole building, so we held our ceremony in the 4th floor ballroom, then moved our guests to cocktail hour on the first floor while the wedding party and family took photos on the second floor, and then went back up to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. The wedding coordinator Stasia was great, both during the rehearsal and in having the ceremony run smoothly as well. The 1840s building is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this venue.

The 1840s Ballroom venue has four floors and we used the first three of them for our event. We did not use the actual 4th floor ballroom, but did see it and it was lovely. Stasia and her team went above and beyond in helping us plan and execute our wedding at 1840s. There were a few minor hiccups along the way, but nothing that the team did not go out of their way to solve. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and really unique. We needed something that matched our quirky-meets-elegant personality and this venue was an absolute perfect match. The floors are all unique and have their own vibe. This was the first venue we saw and fell in love with it instantly. I will say that the cost can be daunting because you are only paying for the rental space and nothing else comes with it (besides tables and chairs), but they do such a wonderful job that I feel it was worth every cent. You can also choose different floors to rent, which affects the cost. We admittedly spent additional money because we took up three floors for the whole evening. I would recommend this venue for anyone looking for a unique and wonderfully "Baltimore" experience for their event.

My husband and I chose to use the city lutes venue in the 1840sballroom building because of it's amazing character, location, and staff. Like most brides I visited multiple sites and couldn't have been more excited when I found this venue. It truly was the perfect venue to set the classy but fun environment we wanted. All of our guests had a great time and I appreciated all of the 1840sballroom staff's help.

I had been at a reception at this venue before and absolutely loved it. I am so glad I was able to have my reception there. I loved how everything looked there the day of our wedding! They were very helpful when we needed to bring a bunch of items the day before the wedding. They were also very responsive whenever I had a question.

I had my reception on the 4th floor ballroom and cocktail hour on the first floor saloon. I received so many compliments about what a beautiful venue and unique venue this was and such a great location. My out of town guests stayed at the Fairfield Inn, so they could just walk to the reception (and ceremony- got married at St. Leo’s in Little Italy), and plenty of things for them to do in the Inner Harbor. It ended up raining the day of my wedding and the staff was quick to move my cocktail hour from the outdoor courtyard to the first floor, turned out great. Also I was able to decorate the ballroom the day before, so I didn’t have to worry about anything the day of my wedding. I had a seated dinner with 150 guests and a band, and there was plenty of room for everyone to move about. I probably wouldn’t suggest having a seated dinner with anymore then 170 guests tops or it would start to get a little cramped. Only downside was parking - and guests were confused that they couldn't take the stairs from the 1st floor to the ballroom.

The 1840's Ballroom was a beautiful venue for a great price. I had 220 guests and it was the perfect size, not too big and not too small. We used the courtyard for cocktail hour and it was gorgeous. We moved up to the ballroom for the reception and it was breathtaking! I would recommend this venue to anyone!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here. It was fantastic. The venue is beautiful. The staff is absolutely amazing! They made sure everything was taken care of, even running up to my room to grab something I had forgotten and helping carry gifts to the room at the end of the night. There was always someone nearby to take care of anything I needed. We even used one of their staff members to officiate our wedding. The location is also convenient for out of town guests. They have a spectacular inn on site and a hotel across the street. It is in downtown Baltimore so your guests can walk to numerous places for sight-seeing while they are in town. I would like to explain the 4.5 stars I gave them for two categories. For value, I could not give them a 5 because it is a bit pricey (at least for our budget). I will say that the involvement of the staff justifies the cost. As for flexibility, they had a few rules that we needed to work around. Everything was fine, but we needed some creative thinking sometimes. I would say that despite those things, it is a spectacular venue. I would highly recommend it! Several months after our wedding, our guests are still talking about the venue.

If I had it to do over again, I'd choose the 1840s Ballroom City Lites floor in a heartbeat. The room is beautiful, truly unique and fun (there's a diner in the middle of the room that you can walk into and sit at the counter!) -- in fact, many of my guests went around taking photos of the murals on the walls, they're so lovely! We had a retro-themed wedding and the City Lites floor suited us perfectly (and we didn't have to prepare many decorations, as the room itself serves as decoration). Sharon very graciously showed us the space multiple times as we made our decision and as we wanted family members to see the room -- she is wonderful and accommodating, as is Stasia, whose calming presence was welcome on such a potentially hectic day. Stasia also went above and beyond by helping us make some key decisions during our rehearsal. I hope she knows how much I appreciate her kindness and all she did for us. The price is reasonable and tables and chairs are included, which helps a ton. We ran into a minor issue (which you don't have to worry about; it has been addressed!) but the most important thing is that it was professionally handled with excellent customer service, and I am incredibly grateful for that. The Carrollton Inn next door is stunningly gorgeous; it was the perfect place for me to get ready and the perfect place for my new husband and I to spend our first married night together. I didn't want to leave!! :) I'd like to spend our anniversaries there. The breakfast the next morning was divine -- I'm a vegan and I was delighted to learn that they can cook a vegan breakfast. It was just delicious. We looked at several other places in our journey to find the right venue, but the moment we saw City Lites, we knew we'd found the perfect place to celebrate -- and it really was. I urge you to take a look -- as far as I'm concerned (and from the rave reviews I'm getting from my guests), it's the best place in Baltimore to host a party.

We did our wedding reception at the 1840's ballroom on August 21st, 2010. We thought it is a beautiful venue and it was more than adequate for what we needed. Stasia was a pleasure to deal with through the process and Juan (our site coordinator) was excellent the night of. He greeted us at the limo, walked us to the holding area, and even tried to fix my wives wedding dress. I'd recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a location to hold their wedding reception. Just a heads up, if you decide to hold your event here make sure to contact Baltimore City to reserve the parking spots out front. For only $89 you get 16-18 spots which is crucial since parking is at a premium down there.
