Wild Basin Lodge is the best place ever.. not only is it set in the most beautiful location... the Rocky Mountains, it is a place of serenity..quiet..and just awesomeness! If you haven't selected a venue yet, do go check it out. The owners are incredible people with a great staff. Our wedding was not only beautiful, but fun..and just perfect. If you love the outdoors..and it's beauty, you must check out WBL. After 9 yrs.. we still have such wonderful memories of our special day. Thanks to WBL & Denice & Nils!! They made our day so very memorable..and special!! Thank you again!! We will never forget your kindness.. Maureen & Tim Kellogg

Being in the military my husbands schedual was very hard to work around. I had scheduled a date first in October, found that he had training and called Wild Basin back to see when the next fesible date was and it was earlier then i had hoped, but this is BEAUTIFUL place and I understand why the venue fills its dates so far in advanced. They are very easy to work with and they accommodate you very well. the lodge rooms are very cute. The meadow site was my choice, I loved my decision to have my wedding at the Wild Basin Lodge. Staff was pleasent, and very helpful, quick to respond, the place is an ideal wedding spot. Thank You for making my wedding day Amazing and Beautiful.

Wild Basin Lodge is a beautiful location with amazing services. Denice is professional and accomadating and really makes the day about the couple. The food at Wild Basin is amazing - the chef is highly touted in the area and all of my guests were blown away. Thanks again to the Wild Basin staff for making our day unforgettable!

Denise and Nils (the owners) are great to work with and the group they employ are fabulous and very in tune with what a bride wants. They have minimal rooms for guests to stay in, we booked the entire lodge (6 rooms I believe) and two cottages they also rent out for only 20 or so guests. Make sure you have accomdations in Estes or around Allenspark if you have a lot of out of town guests. They have two venues (a meadow or a river) and also two areas for the reception. My favorite part was the authentic bar they have in their downstairs reception hall. A bridal suite for the bride to get ready was very nice as well as adjoined to a nanny area for young kids to hang out in. Every thing you could imagine they provide, but can get a bit pricey.

This venue provided beautiful scenery for both the ceremony and reception. There are two ceremony sites to choose from and two rooms for the reception. I would recommend this venue for it's location and laid-back, yet elegant atmosphere. However, we had quite a bit of difficulty communicating with the staff, who was not adequately prepared to do what we had asked on the day of our wedding-- a real frustration! The food was also not what I expected it to be and was a bit of a disappointment.

During our tour and when discussing with Wild Basin's Wedding Coordinator it was explained to us that the wedding captain’s job would be to make sure everyone would be where they needed to be at the right times and be our "line backer" so that we don't get mobbed before or after the ceremony. This is far from what happened. After the wedding pictures I couldn't find the wedding captain. We didn't know where to go, and kept getting mobbed by guests bothering us before the ceremony. Before the ceremony I couldn't quite find everyone in the bridal party at the right time. When I finally found the wedding captain, she told me, "Well, they should already know where to congregate from the rehearsal." This really upset me because we had set up a rehearsal on paper, which she should have known or at least she could have made herself available instead of just sitting in her office the entire time. After the ceremony, our captain was again nowhere to be found, and we had to be mean to many guests and tell them it was our off limits time. I couldn't help feeling like if we were having a bigger wedding on a weekend when rates are higher, maybe they would have made good on their promises. To top off our bad feelings about our experience though, they sent us an email offering us a gift card if we gave them five good reviews online. We took the opportunity instead to tell them about our negative experience and then they offered to pay us if we signed an agreement not to write any negative reviews (of course we didn't take the offer) but it made me realize maybe that may be part of the reason they get good reviews.
