Katherine's was the second shop I visited when I was looking for my wedding dress. After hearing my vague description of what I thought I wanted, they pulled the dress I ended up buying from the rack for me to try on. I loved my dress and they were very helpful in thinking about accessories. We also bought the 2 bridesmaid dresses there and they helped us with accessories for them as well. I received lots of compliments on my dress and found the team at Katherine's very easy to work with.

My mother and I wondered into Katherine's Bridal Boutique after a photography appointment in the area. We were intending on looking at the bridesmaid dresses. We started looking through the racks and found some beautiful gowns. They asked if we would like to try them on. Now if you have not been to may bridal boutiques yet you should know most of them never let you try on unless you have an appointment and you normally can not just walk in and ask for an appointment on the spot. So we were very pleased to know they could take us. The most pleasantly surprising thing about the experience though is that they stock size 10 sample sizes. Some of us cannot fit into a size 2 or 4 so it was nice to get the feeling of a dress actually zipping up. We bought the dress that day. I loved that the dress was not overpriced and they worked with us when we had to move appointments, especially since I live in NYC. I wish they listened more in the fittings and we did not have to ask them to add/fix certain things over many fittings before it was actually how we liked it. Overall extremely nice and I would recommend to someone looking for a decently priced beautiful modern wedding dress. But without the champagne aspect of the experience.

I purchased my wedding dress at Katherine's, and really enjoyed my experience with their team. They helped me stick to my budget, found a dress that I loved (and some extra accessories that made me love it even more!), and did all of the alterations on-site. Their staff is very friendly, and I felt like they cared about making everything extra special.

One of my good friends had purchased her gown at Katherine's a couple of years ago. I had picked out a wedding gown I liked on the internet and luckily Katherine's had that designer and the gown available to try on so off we went. Kathleen was my consultant and was excellent. I tried on the gown I saw on the internet and fell in love. I, of course, didn't want to stop at the first gown so Kathleen picked out several more gowns that were similar and some that were not. After spending about an hour trying on gowns, I went back to the first one and just knew it was the one. I had another appt at a different salon right after and my friends encouraged me to go to that appt to try on other gown just to make sure. Kathleen was extremely understanding and wasn't pushy at all for me to buy the dress right then and there. I called her the next day and ordered the dress! She was excellent to work with and responsive with e-mails. I did not use Katherine's for alterations because I found Blanca Shek with Fresca Designs LLC mentioned several times in other Katherine's bridal reviews as being a great seamstress and for much less money. I would highly recommend looking into her. Overall, I had a great experience. The only negative was that my mom lives in MI and was unable to make it here for my shopping experience. Katherine's did not allow me to take any pictures even after I explained that my mom was anxiously waiting for pictures in MI because she couldn't make it.

After looking for a dress at multiple locations I finally found my perfect dress at Katherine's. There was a good variety to choose from and I was able to find the one that was elegant, classy, and fit my personality and style perfectly. My alterations where also taken care of through Katherine's and they did a great job and the dress fit like a glove. I wouldn't have changed a thing!

I purchased a sample gown from Katherine's Bridal. They negotiated a price for me which was nice. This is a small boutique but has lots of selection. The lady who assisted me with trying on dresses was very nice and accommodating.

A friend who'd gotten her wedding dress at Katherine's recommended that we go together after I'd been having trouble finding what I was looking for at a price point I could manage. After reading some negative reviews on Yelp, I got nervous and nearly called off the trip. I'm so glad that I went through with it: while it's not as chic an experience as a super-high-end boutique, the staff helped me find a fabulous dress that I could afford, and they tailored it to make it look like it was custom-made for me. As some reviewers have said, I did feel a little bit of pressure to buy once I tried on a dress that I knew was what I wanted. The dress was described to me as a "special collection," not a name brand, which made me a little bit anxious. And the space is definitely not as glamorous as other (more pricey) boutiques I tried in Georgetown and elsewhere in Alexandria. BUT: it was the right place for me, and the right dress (and ultimately, I decided -- who cares about the name brand if you feel great?). I'm so glad that I chose to work with the staff there. Once I made the decision to buy, I had four more visits to the store -- and Azam made me feel welcome and at ease each time. The tailor is an absolute wizard: When the dress first came, it looked about three sizes too big, but the finished product fit me like a glove. I was thrilled with the dress on the big day. Katherine's might be a little rough around the edges for some. But it really worked for me, and it is definitely worth a try for anyone who wants a good variety of looks and price points.

I had true on about 50 wedding gowns in search of the right one. I was hanging out with some girlfriends who suggested to try out Katherine's Bridal. When I walked into the store, Azam helped me. She told me to look around but that she knew exactly which dress I would pick. Well, she was right. From there, I brought my parents in, bought the dress that I never would have picked for myself. I had to go in for 4 fittings because of weight loss and the alterations were perfect and everyone was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend this little boutique!!

Katherine's has a wonderful selection of designer gowns, every girl's dream! I picked three dresses to try on and didn't like any of them. The lady helping us chose one and when I tried it on I knew that it was THE one. I was so impressed. I didn't go anywhere to shop around, that was it. I bought it on the spot, along with my veil. They told me it would be about 6 months for it to come in, it was in in 4 months. Wonderful! I went up with my bridesmaids, mother, and soon-to-be mother in law to try it on and pick out bridesmaids dresses. They did not inform me that the first try-on appointment there would not be any kind of alterations done or measurements taken. I live an hour away and most of bridesmaids were from out of town so they made special trips for this. I was a little taken aback. I went back two months later for alterations to be done and the same thing happened. No measurements or anything. We didn't start the process until 2 months before the wedding however, they had me come up there (after telling them I was losing weight consistently) twice for nothing. My dress was ordered an extra size up to be on the safe side, per their recommendation, so it had a lot of work to get done. All in all, the alterations process was not great and the seamstress didn't seem very responsive to my concerns. The dress turned out gorgeous but the process to get there was long and stressful for me. I would purchase dresses there again but get them altered elsewhere to avoid the headache.

Do not do business here. I had a similar experience with a knock-off Allure gown as described in a previous review. When I tried on the gown, I asked who the designer was and didn't get a straight answer. I assumed they didn't want to reveal the designer for fear I would buy the dress online instead of through them. I went ahead and bought it (which was dumb of me), and when it came in, it had no tags at all. I did some research and realized I paid more for the knock-off then I would have for the real thing through a reputable shop. I was very angry, but with my wedding a couple months' away, I felt there wasn't much I could do. This shop is absolutely terrible about double-booking. The only appointment I had that wasn't double booked was my initial visit. For all fittings and even coming to pick up the dress, I had to stand there for 20+ minutes and wait. They usually don't bother to even greet you, so you are just standing there feeling like you are in the way. With as much money as I spent at this shop, I expect them to at least keep appointments (all of mine where made weeks in advance.) This is the same level of service you'd get at David's Bridal -- only you'll pay twice as much. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.

I would not recommend this boutique to anyone. We made an appointment here because they were one of the few stores in the area that carried a particular dress style and designer we found online, but I'd give anything to have spent money elsewhere. We weren't greeted when we went in, despite having an appointment, but we figured it was just typical DC area snobbery. I was taken to a back room full of bridesmaids dresses to try on the dress I wanted, we were not allowed to take any photos, and the woman left me and my mother to decide on the dress ourselves without telling us anything about the style or the fit or other dresses. I decided I wanted to buy it, so I was finally allowed to take photos and was measured for the dress. The owner herself took my measurements and told me they would order a size up to fit my bust and take in the waist. The dress was shipped out to the midwest where I'm at school and it turned out to be not only too short but the bust was too small and nowhere near fitting me. I called Katherine's and spoke to Katherine herself about the poor fit and she told me there was nothing she could do without my measurements so I sent measurements and photos, and not only did I lose weight in the bust (the dress should have been even more likely to fit) but the seamstress here told me that by taking it in at the waist and trying to cover the bust the dress will become even shorter (I asked for floor length). Katherine said there was nothing she could do after repeated phone calls, wouldn't refund us for the dress, and told me my body shape was responsible for the problem! My mother and I were appalled. For the amount we spent on that dress, to have it arrive so ill-fitting that it's impossible to alter and have the owner herself criticize my body and refuse to take back a dress she should never have ordered was completely unacceptable. The fit of the gown was something professionals at a nice boutique should have been able to manage.
