[VIDEO:] Two NYC Brides Put It All On The Line In The ‘Game For The Name’

These two amazing NYC brides had quite a wedding planned.

It involved an invitation to their friends and family, who came from all over the world, to gather in the Hudson River valley for a personalized ceremony at the Church of the Messiah in Rhinebeck, NY, followed by a beautiful reception at the Clermont House, with custom cocktails and dinner overlooking the Hudson River.

But the centerpiece of the wedding may very well have been the soccer game the day prior to the wedding. Dubbed the “game for the name,” brides Martha West (who played at Stanford University and professionally in Sweden) and Tanya Kalivas (who played at Princeton University and for the Greek National Team in the Olympics) had to move what they presumed would be a small-sided pick up game with a few former and current teammates to a field where they could play a full 11 v 11 game — with referee, friends, parents, and all.
