Dionysia & Nicole
We realized that we met in person the previous summer before we actually met. In 2008, I (Dee) went to the Carribean Festival with my father, little brother, and ex best friend. When we decided to eat, there was a McDonalds right there, so, of course, went to eat. My father kept talking about this girl who had very bad judgement when it came to her clothing. Lol. So we laughed and laughed at her. I saw this little boy sitting with her and he was so adorable. I found out less than a year later, the girl we were teasing was Nicole’s friend. I also found out that little boy was her lol. She said that she actually wanted to talk to me that day but she was too nervous.
Well, that next January, we met again, on DowneLink. We had a few phone conversations, ims back and forth. Something about her spoke out to me. Like, she wasn’t like any girl I had ever dated, and thats in a good way. My mind kept trying to tell me that she was just saying what I wanted to hear but my heart told me to listen more. More importantly, my gut told me I’d spend the rest of my life with her.
After a heartbreaking Valentine’s Day, we were both upset that we didn’t get to spend that day together but she promised me that she would come and see me the following weekend. The 21st of February got there and I got a phone call at 11:32 at night. Nicole was at Baltimore Penn Station and needed further direction. My ex best friend and I hopped on the bus and rushed down to get her. It was cold but she waited. I saw her a mile away standing in front of Rite Aid and my heart stopped. I was nervous. But I was so in love. Just thinking of that day makes me smile. As we approached her, I could see her smile develop. It made me warm despite the cold wind blowing around us. The hug was even warmer.
We walked away hand in hand and here we are today. She proposed to me on a late night about 2 months later. I didn’t know if she got swept up in the emotion but I knew what I wanted to do. So I said yes! Days and Weeks and Months went by, and she never changed her mind. I wake up to her everyday and love her more each time. I know that all couples have their rough patches, but it only makes me love her more. If she didn’t care, she’d walk away. I didn’t love her, I’d leave. But we love and care for each more than ourselves. I can’t wait until September 22, 2010 when I can officially call her my wife.
Love InspirationThe way my mom looks at my dad. I noticed that I look at Nicole the same way!
