Andy & Tina
Tina and i are raising her two beautiful children in our hometown and hoping to buy our first home together soon. We havent gone one day without seeing eachother for almost 3 years even before we were dating. Our friends always tell me that before Tina they never thought that I would settle down and now they cant see me or her any other way. As for Andy she would always walk by where I would work and smile and kind of duck her head down so I couldnt see her eyes. She always had a hat on so she could hide them because she knew I would be able to to read her like a book. I thought a good way to win her over would be to start bringing her cookies. Sure enough it worked and she started coming around more and more. I would bake for her and she would be the listening ears that I needed through a bad divorce. After a few months I had transfered into the same department Andy was in and she ended up being the one to train me. The casual looks and the secret touches were all that it took for us to fall in love.
We compliment eachother all too well. The fact that we have a such a great relationship makes our lives that much easier and that much easier for our families to be supportive. Tina recently changed her last name to Manos and we also just recieved our certificate stating that we are registered domestic partners in the state of Washington. It always makes us smile when we can see that framed on the wall with all our family pictures.
Recently Andy had the best support from me with Andy’s grandmother battled cancer and passed away 3 months ago. With the wedding put on hold, our relationship has grown that much more. Andy had late nights spending every waking moment with her grandmother and I was right there every step of the way. Without her I couldnt have made it through this. We recently decided to move our wedding date to possibly October 1 which is my grandma’s birthday since she was the first person to give us her blessing. But the more we began to think, we wanted nothing to take away from my grandmother so we decided on November 1st, 2008 and that we were going to have a Halloween themed wedding. Yes it does sound crazy but it came down to one year we dressed up as jack and sally from the nightmare before christmas and felt that it would be fitting for our family and friends.
