Pam & Jen
Jen and I met more than 3 years ago. For both of us, we had just existed in this life. Now we are actually living for the first time. The support, love, trust, and most importantly respect we have for each other is beyond our wildest dreams!
We first decided to just file for Domestic Partnership in our state as that was the only thing “legal”. We took that step on 8-8-2008. In December, 2008 Jen asked me to marry her on Christmas Day in front of our 3 children.
I am not sure that she really expected me to plan the wedding of her dreams but that is just what I set out to do. We wanted to be treated and respected by all those involved but also knew that we would have situations come up to handle.
We went to the Center where we wanted to have the service and reception. The lady helping us asked us the bride’s name and then asked us the groom’s name. When we told her that we were both bride’s, the look on her face was priceless but more important to us was that she responded, “That is so cool, I am happy for you.” She never treated us any different nor did anyone at the facility. We selected Jen’s cousin to perform the ceremony and we used many ideas from the web to help us put together then entire day.
When the day finally arrived, it was standing room only as all the tables were filled and more chairs had to be brought in. We were so amazed walking into our wedding at all the support we received from family and friends.
For me, just looking at all the photo’s our photographer took and remembering the day—it is the most amazing day of my life. I was so excited to share that moment with everyone. The most amazing part for me was when my father put his arm around both Jen & I and said to Jen, “I have never seen my daughter so happy and I welcome you into our family; with all our love and support.” That was breath taking and the photographer was right their to capture the moment I will never forget.
Love InspirationThe strong love that we both have found within that has been lost!
