Jordan & Karie

It was July, and out of curiosity (ok, it was more than curiosity- I thought she was cute) I clicked on Jordan’s profile on a dating website. After reading it over it seemed that we had lots in common and that we could be compatible. It was also obvious after seeing more pictures that she was not only cute, she was beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that I chickened out and decided not to message her. However, a few minutes later she messaged me. We talked for about an hour, and then exchanged numbers. We txted all evening, but I still felt it was too soon for me to call. I would soon learn that “too soon” does not exist in the same world that our love does. I got up the courage and called her that night. We talked for hours. To this day her voice is still my favorite sound in this world. We went on talking and txting every free second we had for the next week. We talked about everything- there was never ever any uncomfortable silence. It was only a week, but we both knew it- we were in love. We decided to officially meet. The only problem was that we lived across the country (literally) from each other-me in NY and Jordan in TX. We decided that we would meet half-way (North Carolina), since Jordan had always wanted to visit there. It was set. We planned to spend a few days there together starting on August 15th. However, as the next weeks passed our feelings continued to grow and waiting until August 15th wasn’t an option. Then there was this: how could we possibly only spend a few days together and then be able to leave each other once we were together? So it was settled. We put our faith in love, and on August 17th I left to move across the country to be with Jordan. The second we wrapped our arms around each other everything felt right and I knew there was nowhere else I would ever need to be. We decided that we wanted to get married, but since it was such short notice, and weddings are so expensive we just decided that we would get married by the justice of the peace now. So on October 19 we were married in Vermont. It was just the two of us. However, we are now planning a big wedding that our families and friends can attend. We will be getting married (again) on October 31, 2010 (Halloween is our favorite holiday).
