ash & sarah
Unbeknownst to us we’ve been crossing paths all our lives at various events through scouts (scouts is coed here in Australia). Sarah requested my friendship on a gay youth site because we had so much in common and I looked familiar. Turns out we’d met before. She lived 2 hours away and we were only 15 so we used to talk online a bit but never thought it would go anywhere. That went on for four years until things started getting more flirtatious online. One night she rang me and told me to meet her half way to her home town. We met up and she drove me to a beach where we hung out talking. She pulled a few moves on me, I always joke that she’s the sleazy one, I was terrified. I didn’t expect it and she lived so far away, there didn’t seem to be a point. It turned out she was planning on moving to Sydney for university hence she pursued me.
The next week we went on our first date: kayaking. So gay I know but we’re both outdoorsey. The chatting and laughter didn’t stop for the whole trip. It was great. A month later we went away to my parents holiday house, it was a great way to get to know each other. A couple of weeks later she moved to Sydney.
Our relationship works because its very balanced. We balance each other. We have our own separate lives as well as a life together. Its fantastic.
