Becky & Charity
Once upon a time there was a little girl who had a favourite song sung by her favourite singer in her favourite band. It went, “Angel, you were born to fly, and if you get too high, I’ll catch you when you fall.” She loved that song so much that she told her diary she wanted her future love to sing it as a lullaby, yet deemed it impossible because her favourite band was so small that no one had ever heard of it, much less knew her song. Ten years later, at a concert of her favourite band, she ran into an old friend. That friend had brought an old friend, and that friend had too brought an old friend. Her name was Charity, and the moment she met her she lost her breath. Later that year, the girl became ill. On one particular rough night, while she was sick with fever, a concerned Charity wrapped her in her arms and sang, “I’ll be the other hand that always hold the line connecting in between your sweet heart and mine, I’m strung out on that wire / And I’ll be on the other end, to hear you when you call, angel you were born to fly, and if you get too high, I’ll catch you when you fall.” … Charity proposed three years later, on one knee after dancing with me in the rain, although I knew from that night on that she was the one. Charity is now a successful sous chef, and I am a fashion design student and retail visual specialist. Because we’ve decided to postpone our wedding until 2013, when I graduate, we’re having an engagement party next summer to celebrate our incredible relationship!
