Jean & Rin
Although on Guam, same-sex unions or marriages aren’t legal, nor are they recognized, we have decided to go through with a commitment ceremony for the simple fact that marriage is something that society understands. When you say you’re getting married, the true nature of your relationship becomes clear to your friends, family and co- workers. It also gives our family and friends the opportunity to stand up and proclaim their support for us.
For the short time that we’ve known each other, we’ve both shown the other that true love comes from sincere respect and honesty.
We can be who we truly are with each other, without having to worry about anything. We accept each other for who we are.
