Kyle & Travis
“…love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”
Kyle: Opposites most definitely attracted in our situation. An earthy pagan hippie and an east texas baptist cowboy! Not to mention a Longhorn (me) and an Aggie (Travis). At first i wasn’t so sure how this would work or if it would work but right from the beginning it was as if I had known Travis forever. We had so much in common as far as interests and family roots and the little differences between us just made our relationship that much sweeter. He is the most amazing man I have ever been with and I am so lucky to have him in my life.
And he makes me laugh which is the best thing ever!
As for the wedding we are wanting an outdoor wedding with a Renaissance/Nature/Celtic fusion type theme. This way it combines our similar interests and a sense of spirituality. Being an interfaith couple hasn’t ever really been an issue, however we are most likely going to have a somewhat more neutral ceremony (rather than a full blown Baptist wedding or Wiccan Handfasting) for the sake of family and friends who may not agree with Kyle’s beliefs (that way noone is left out of the ceremony). Our colors are darker shades of green, blue, and brown and a hint of silver. Since we are financially limited we will be taking on the task of making our own invites and decorations and stuff, and not to mention Kyle will be making the cake ( we have designed a Claddagh wedding cake setup…it’s going to rock).
Now we aren’t officially engaged (Travis is going to propose at an unannounced date) but we have talked enough about it that we might as well be. We just started living together and it has just been amazing! We are so cohesive and everything is 50/50. Happiness never felt so good!
