Valerie & Lora Jane
Two souls that had given up on love, these Milwaukee high school teachers found they had one last “at bat”. They grew up on the south side of Chicago a few years, and a couple neighborhoods apart. Both of them are baseball fanatics that ran with the same circle of friends. They had no idea what was in store for them when a spirited friend called “Buffy” decided they had waited long enough to be introduced, they have been smitten ever since.
As they were getting to know each other, everything was clicking together. When Val said to L. J., “your my lobster”,L. J. knew the reference and exactly what she meant. It was then they both knew this was more than just a relationship, this was it.
Val set about finding the perfect ring, met with a jewelry designer and picked out a stone. She did her research to know the best way to propose and made L. J. the last to know when it was going to happen. After a long hard day at work, on a once meaningless Tuesday night, L. J. found a dozen roses and a little velvet box waiting on the bed. Val had a pretend band in the box and humerous note, only to do a “bait and switch” and put the real one on L.J.’s finger and pop the question.
After many years, and thinking their day would never come, Valerie and Lora Jane are planning their dream wedding for early spring in Milwaukee. It can’t come soon enough.
