Damon & Shawn

A chance meeting two years ago in the East Village evolved into a relationship. Shawn and I instantly connected and began dating. After six months, Shawn asked me to move in with him and later planned a romantic getaway in Paris, France this past November. As we were settling in our room on our first night in Paris, Shawn had other plans and insisted that I have a seat on the bed while he told me something important. I was feeling a little suspicious because he was nervous and not acting like his normal perky self so I asked him. “Are you breaking up with me?” After a few laughs he said, “No baby, I am asking you to marry me” I quickly recovered with a resounding “Yes”. It was a perfect beginning to a perfect vacation in Paris.

The wedding took place on August 21, 2010 at the gorgeous Lathrop Manor Bed & Breakfast in Norwich, Connecticut. The day was an incredibly perfect celebration of friends, family and the important things that mattered. The wedding was largely a labor of love from friends and family with the most beautiful outdoor setting imaginable. Personal touches marked the wedding. Shawn and I started the night dancing on the terrace to “Moon River” by Louis Armstrong and ended it with a stay at Lathrop Manor for obvious sentimental reasons.
